Visited today for a late lunch and a few drinks. Great little place-lovely cosy atmosphere, dimly lit & full of curiosities, particularly the taxidermy.Afternoon tea plentiful and cheese board huge with 4 different cheeses. Cocktails lovely and a great selection of gins. We will be back! It was a pleasure having you in, and thank you for your kind review! We look forward to welcoming you behind the bookcase again soon

We went early on 'Thai Night'. The starter was tasty but a small portion. The green curry was like a microwave ready meal , though both courses were presented well and our servers were pleasant. The place was nearly empty though to be fair we did go early. Just to cap off a disappointing experience several of the draught beers were off. No reason we could see to consider returning , sadly.

This pub has everything, atmosphere, position, beer garden and excellent food! it is in the centre of a very busy tourist place so you can't miss it. The hosts and staff are very helpful and pleasant. I loved the decor and when we went back at night, it was buzzing! everyone was partying and dancing, thoroughly recommend this place.Thank you for taking the time to write such a great review! With friends, we visited this quaint old village pub in the quiet village of Misson. The landlords, Elaine and Michael, proved to be the perfect hosts. We were shown to outdoor seating to take pre-dinner drinks and view the enticing menu. Michael, the chef, came to our table to answer our menu questions while Elaine served the drinks. Our starters of calamari and classic prawn cocktail were well received. The main dishes were even better including salmon and prawns in a thermidor sauce. The special beef wellington had a perfectly cooked steak sandwiched by pate and a beautiful fluff pastry case. With desserts, drinks and gratuities the bill came to £45 per head, well worth it for such perfect food and friendly service.

Outstanding pub grub proper homemade went there 4 fatherlaw 70 birthday as a party of 7 soon as we got there we got a warm welcome would defo recommend not the cheapest of places but well worth the extra money 4 decent grub

We visited last Saturday after a recommendation from friends. The risotto was recommended in particular and I was really looking forward to it. ....but the menu had changed!I mentioned this to the waitress and she told the chef....who made it for me specially!It was gorgeous and so was everything else we had - and they gave us 10% off our food even though we had forgotten the voucher. Lovely place, very friendly and welcoming, excellent service and great food (and wine âº).
