Together with Balzan and Lija it forms part of "the Three Villages" and has been inhabited since the Classical Period. It has a population of 10,650 as of March 2014. Attard's traditional Latin motto is Florigera rosis halo ("I perfume the air with my blossoms") due to its many flower gardens and citrus orchards. Attard is abundant with public gardens, including ornamental trees and flowers, maintained by the Local Council. The inhabitants of Attard are known as saraċini.

Just back from a holiday in Malta where we had one day where it did rain so we went for a drive to Rabat and after walking round looking into overcrowded restaurants we stumbled across the Bottegin Palazzo and it was well worth the find.Having had a large breakfast we were looking for somewhere to have some cake & a drink and i have to say this place was excellent.Great staff and a great menu all in a beautiful building .We opted for the date tart served with ice cream and i have to admit this was thee best date tart i have ever had! and a very generous portion size as well!!!.Whilst sitting having our food & drink we did notice the dishes coming out of the kitchen which looked amazing & HUGE so i do believe we will be travelling back to here next year !.Keep up the great workDear Carlos S,Many Thanks for your review. This was our visit to Malta we found this place. Lovely staff, very welcoming, great choice of drinks and food. Nothing was to much for them. Even helped me celebrate my birthday is style. Staff and singer. Definitely recommend a visit while you are there

Small quaint and cosy place where one can enjoy a nice bottle of wine and a good platter. Popular with the locals, it is a meet up place hence I would not choose it for an intimate evening however that should not demerit the place. Centrally located in B'Kara which makes it close to anywhere. Wine bar is run by the owner Sammy himself who is charming and accommodating. Recommended.

Strange bar, as you can only get a drink if you have a reservation, even at the bar itself. So if you fancy a drink make sure you book ahead.Seems unfair to rate them one star, but thereâs no other option available.My point is to warn others not to simply turn up expecting to get served with a drink.

Tucked away in a quiet area. Nicely decorated inside, run by a friendly husband and wife team. The food was interesting, combining Indian, Italian and Chinese. The sharing platter was a mixture of several cuisines, not really sure how spring rolls fit in. Puddings were all shop bought, not home made. Thank you for taking the time to review The Old Charm.We are happy you like the place, and the friendly atmosphere, we always aim to make it a welcoming place for people to relax and enjoy drinks, and food without all the fuss of a formal restaurant feel, as we are ultimately a Winebar.We are very impressed that you have quite clearly understood our concept, of offering a mixture of cuisines which is obviously noticeable in the platters we offer. We aim to provide something a little different in Naxxar. We also offer a small selection of Indian food, influenced by family recipes, and introduce spices into some of our Mediterranean dishes to add something slightly unusual but in a good way we hope.You also mentioned the puddings, you are right they are not made in-house, however they are carefully selected by us from a local bakery, and we can assure you that they are not sold in shops. Went to dinner last week. I really enjoyed the food most of us took meat and ribs even burgers with very large portions and the dessert were so tasty and good. Thumbs up to the chef. I have been there with my family. The waitress Graziella served us great and with the prettiest smile. Top notch service and were served the very best!

This restaurant is in a beautiful building, and was recommended to us by a woman selling her amazing pastries obliquely opposite. We were not disappointed. We were served by a young man from Philippines, who was extraordinarily attentive, service oriented and told me about the history of the building and the woman who owned it. I ordered the special and my boyfriend had a pizza with pistachio cream and salmon. Both were amazing. The food is excellent, the service is wonderful, and I highly recommend both the food here and the pastry shop across the street for extras to take away!!

We ate twice here in the evening during our stay at the Corinthia Palace. The meat and cheese platter (serves 2) and lasagne ( daily special) were both excellent and there is a good choice of local and international wine to drink as well as a fully stocked bar. Service is friendly and the bar is popular with the locals. We didn't book but this is probably to be advised. The building is historic and there is an outside seating area for when the weather is warmer. Happy to recommend...

Not your typical touristy café/snack bar near St. Paulâs Catacombs, Il-Baxa is but a surprisingly great dining place with absolutely amazing homemade pasta and soup. Their food is brought up in an old elevator chute, hot and fresh! I really cannot recall a better place for fresh pasta outside of Italy. Thank you for sparing your time to review il-baXa. We actually went here for lunch because our 'usual' restaurant was closed, so found this on Trip Advisor instead. But we were not disappointed. The food was beautifully cooked and the portions were large. We definitely over ordered: a pizza to share as a starter, risotto and a mixed grill (mostly to share both between us) as a main. The pizza and risotto would have been enough for us both so when the mixed grill arrived were were already fairly stuffed, but it was too good to leave any. We didn't want to eat for the rest of the day and still felt full the next day! The only downside was the huge number of flies which were constantly around the tables. Some fly deterrents would have been helpful, but it seems this is the month for flies as they're everywhere. Overall definitely recommend this place. Friendly staff and good value for the large portions.
