Lazio (UK: /ˈlætsioʊ/, US: /ˈlɑːtsioʊ/; Italian: [ˈlatsjo]; Latin: Latium) is one of the 20 administrative regions of Italy. Situated in the central peninsular section of the country, it has almost 5.9 million inhabitants – making it the second most populated region of Italy (after Lombardy and just a little ahead of Campania) – and its GDP of more than 170 billion euros per annum means that it has the nation's second largest regional economy. The capital of Lazio is Rome, which is also Italy's capital and the country's largest city.

So glad we found this place! Lamented the lack of space in our luggage after seeing the larger pieces there, but stocked up on a few of the smaller images in a variety of sizes and styles. Different to the usual touristy souvenirs and a far better way to bring home something to remember our visit. I always look for art when I travel and this place definitely didn’t disappoint!

The ALEFBET art gallery is the only art gallery of the world totally dedicated to the 22 letters of the hebrew alphabet. Each letter has a name, a sound, a numerical value, and one or more mystical meanings. The hebrew letters are the door to the Kabalah. Al the exhibits in the gallery are works made by the italian jewish artist Gabriele Levy. Gabriele Levy is trying to define a new paradigm in art: he started from 3D art and followed to 4D art, then the work developed to hidden art and the modular art, and he is working now on photomosaics and glowing art. You are invited to the gallery and listen from the the artist showing you the objects defining the new art paradigm. You will certainly love to see and to touch the works!

Found the shop fairly easily, down a side street in a nice part of town. I wanted an individual souvenir and the very friendly owner made us a small marble sign saying “the house of the dogs” in Italian within the hour for 15 euro and we are very pleased with it!
