Club Esse Palmasera

Situated between the mountains and the sea, the Club Esse Palmasera has all the Sardinian geography beauty. Behind it, there is an evergreen ridge from which the myrtle, the helichrysum and the lentisk make the Mediterranean scrub scents explode. In front of it, there is the sea, emerald green and blue, full of marine life: a paradise for diving. The hotel’s equipped beach is just 200m away, while to reach the Cala Gonone Central Beach or the Aquarium is just a short walk, and only 2.9km to reach the famous Bue Marino Caves.

Very nice hotel. Excellent service!

Reviewed By ANNA P

My second experience at this hotel.... and I am ready for the third, hopefully soon. This nice hotel is situated right in the centre of Orosei. It is easy to find and has a very convenient area for parking right outside. There is also a very nice swimming pool , which makes it very special indeed. When we arrived we were told we only had 10 minutes to enjoy the swimming pool, as it was almost dinner time, and we decided to go for it, especially because it was a very hot day. We swam for a bit longer than that, but nobody complained or told us to leave, so we relaxed in the pool and, after a shower, we had dinner by the pool: just beautiful! When we went back to the room we had some problems with air conditioning, as only the fan seemed to work. We went to the reception and told them and after 5 minutes the manager offered a nice cool room, right opposite the one we had, where we were able to spend the night. What a kind thought. Thank you and well done for the service!

My family and I visited for an evening meal in September. The food was plentiful and delicious. The view from the restaurant very pleasant. The building itself is modest but exceptionally clean and well kept. The owners were gracious, engaging and accommodating; one of my relatives is gluten, wheat and dairy intolerant. Overall, the experience we had was quite lovely.

Still a beautiful place, but we had a better experience here in the past

Reviewed By 99usul

We know the hotel very well and have always spent a very nice holiday here since 2014. This year, after the Corona break in 2020, when the hotel was closed, we again had a nice and quiet two weeks. The sister hotel on the complex is always busy, but we prefer the small Club Hotel Orosei Beach in terms of size, noise and (lack of) animation. This time, however, the hotel didn't quite get the full score, which is essentially due to the price-performance ratio. To put it in a nutshell: Hotel, rooms, cleanliness, facilities, food, beach and sea are still very nice, but while the standard has decreased compared to the Thomas Cook/Sentido era 2018/19 and has settled at the level of 2014/15 (at that time already in the hands of ITI Marina), the prices know only one direction: upwards and there the air is increasingly thin. The friendly and experienced staff in the restaurant, bar and reception have unfortunately been completely replaced and only very few speak English at an acceptable level. The staff are happy to talk to the predominantly Italian guests, but give the international guests a wide berth due to their lack of language skills. They make an effort and a smile is usually always possible. One particular waiter who spreads bad vibes in the restaurant is the exception. The food is usually very good, since chef Nicola is still there. The barbecue evenings are outstanding, especially the grilled fish. Unfortunately, we only had two in a fortnight; more often would do the hotel a lot of good. The variety is unfortunately less compared to the Sentido era, but antipasti, pasta and meat & fish dishes taste good. Unfortunately, the food is only hot when it comes fresh from the kitchen. The food is replenished very quickly. Disappointing this year are the desserts. Fruit not chilled and warm. The ice cream with water crystals and dry cakes as single portions as well as creams in plastic jars. When I think of the desserts of the past... Sustainable is different. Plastic, plastic, plastic. This was banned in the past and is unfortunately celebrating a triumphant return. In a 4* hotel I find the consumption not only irresponsible, it just seems etremely cheap. Why they give out plastic spoons with ice cream/desserts, honestly no idea. It doesn't make sense. 5 tables for 120 rooms at the pool bar. One has the impression that they simply don't want to offer the (mostly Italian) all-inclusive guests a nice time/opportunity in the evening after dinner, so that very little is consumed. We were very satisfied with full board, half board would also do here. The AI surcharge for drinks would not have been worth it at all. The espresso for €1.20 and the cappuccino for €1.70 were fairly priced, a bottle of mineral water is charged 3,00 €. The mosquitoes are not a new problem, but relaxing on the balcony or on the grounds in the evening is only possible with Autan and Co. The hotel does little to nothing against this problem. The hotel's own beach and sea are close and simply a dream, the sunbeds are included from the 3rd row, there are no morning towel battles. The sea drops off steeply very quickly, you have to know that. The staff is eager and it is clear to me that they all fight over experienced staff. More foreign language skills would be appropriate in my opinion. It is clear to us that Sardinia as a trendy destination is an expensive holiday destination and it is also clear to us that after Corona, the price has been significantly increased. Almost all guests were here for a week, and we were exotic with 13 nights, which is simply also due to the price. We would have preferred a higher standard or fewer deficiencies. Basically, this is a beautiful hotel on a beautiful site, hence the 4 stars, but we are now so far that we will probably go somewhere else next year.

Cala della Torre Resort

Hotel Cala della Torre – Siniscola, Italy Cala della Torre village, whose name comes from the close Sardinian tourist site, is located on the middle-eastern coast of Sardinia, surrounded by a pine forest with immense white beaches with pink nuances. The resort, totally renewed and equipped with all services, is placed in an amazing private park, just in front of the tourist little harbour, at 350 mt. from the beach “La Caletta”. Ground floor rooms with patio and garden or pool view. Rooms with French balcony and small terrace. Family rooms with loft and large terrace. In the morning open the windows of your room, let yourself be flooded by the first rays of sunshine and the air of the sea of Sardinia. Our rooms are welcoming, with walls painted in fresh colours that recall the sea. The furnishings are simple, linear and spacious, airy, suitable to accomodate a family.

Loud music until late, otherwise a nice experience throughout.

The hotel seemed nice, at first, but as our holiday got on, it so happened that one “misfortune” followed another. At first, my son’s bed got flooded due to a fault with the insulation of the terrace above us. Those things happen and the hotel’s management were curious enough to help us transfer to another room in a matter of thirty minutes from being notified about the leak. After we got to the second room, the big fault with the hotel showed it’s face. We were moved to a room on the second floor, on the north-west side of the hotel. That side directly looks over the pool and has a view towards the port. The other thing it looks over is the amphitheatre. As you might know, the hotel has an entertainment programme that ends, every night with a show with music for the kids. The problem is, to put it shortly, the fact that the amphitheatre is positioned towards about hundred -and-fifty rooms. The programme lasts until 11pm. The other thing is that the windows don’t hinder any of the noise that just blasts through them. I would like to share this with anyone that is looking to visit the hotel with kids that are an age not proper for them to join the entertainment programme, so they’ll have to sleep in front of a dance club. After all this is advertised as a “family hotel”.

Retirement home - not a hotel. Many hidden costs and service restrictions

Reviewed By Laura R

We were so excited when we booked this hotel. From the photos everything looked amazing and had exactly what we were after for this holiday: secluded place, nice and spacious rooms, great facilities, fantastic beach, food...in other words - a perfect get away place. But.. the reality was quite different... Our room was tiny, not even close to the photos on their website, I would say it was just about half the advertised size. No WIFI in the rooms either, it worked only in the reception area. To my husband's horror the gym was 25eur per day as it was part of the spa. Seriously? A total ripoff. The presence of the gym was the reason that we chose this hotel in the first place. There is no information about these additional costs on hotels website which made my husband extremely furious. Beach towels were available for 6€ each day, plus additional cost to have it washed. The restaurant was a buffet style and had large variety of good food (gave 3 stars to this review because of it), but to get to it we had to fight with a huge crowd of hungry and angry pensioners...and there were A lot of pensioners, we felt like in some kind of retirement home or a hospital, very strange (we are in our late 30s so no teens looking for a party place so we felt very weird there)...Dinner was available from 8.45pm till 9.00pm. 1,5h to eat in Italy, seriously? No food was available after 9.15pm so one night we were left without dinner after getting back at 9.15pm. I was furious as it cost us 65eur for the offsite dinner and we were not offered any refund. Another strange thing were hotels animators, young kids in their late teens trying to sit and get drunk with hotels guests at all times. I mean, sure, I am ok to offer you one drink while you try to entertain me by talking over and over again about yourself (big baggage of barely 20 years of life :) ), but i was not ok to buy you drinks every night..plus, drinking on the job is not OK in my opinion. Is it even legal? Bar did not accept cash or any bank cards. To get drinks you have to go to the reception and get a pre-paid card, and you better don't lose it, because its equal to losing your wallet. Our biggest disappointment was the beach as it was full of sea weed. I know, it is not hotels fault, but to add to all other disappointments it was a bit to much. Thank God we had a car and could go to other fantastic sea weed free beaches. For us Cala Ginepro is a no go back place.

Poor location, but great food and friendly staff

Reviewed By michaelthole

We stayed at this location for 7 nights. At first the positive things: the staff is very friendly and supportive! The food is also very good. Now the negative things: the hotel is in the middle of nowhere. No shop, no restaurant,... close by. From the hotel to the pool it is a 5 minutes walk and to get to the beautiful sea it takes another 10 minutes walk. The rooms are the catastrophe. Small and dark, the beds are very uncomfortable and so we tried to leave the rooms as fast as possible. Our back hurt directly after the first night. Sorry, never again this hotel!
