Hotel Astra is situated at 500 mt. above sea level overlooking Lake Garda. It is easy to reach by way of a wonderful panoramic road. It lies in a quiet area, close to the centre of Tignale, Gardola. The comfortable atmosphere of the family-run Hotel Astra, the buffet-style breakfast, the outdoor swimming pool, the garden, the outdoor bowls court and chess are all facilities which can help to make your stay pleasent and relaxing. You can also book tennis courts near the hotel. All rooms have a telephone, TV, safe and modern bathroom facilities, phon, Every room has a balcony.
Excellent family hotel but needs air conditioning.
Reviewed By Paul MLocated in the hills overlooking Lake Garda, the location is peaceful and relaxing. The well sized family room was clean and to a high standard. Outside there is a good pool, supersize chess and sun loungers. The owners were friendly and helpful and provided a large breakfast selection. There is ample free parking outside the property and it is only a two minute walk to the village of Tignale. The area caters for many German tourists (the beer at the hotel is excellent!) Whilst we visited there were a couple of evening festivals where the village had food stalls and entertainment. The village has various shops and pizza places for supplies. I would recommend Osteria La Miniera for a meal. The only thing missing at Hotel Astra was air conditioning for the rooms. We visited during a heatwave, where fans were provided but it still was a bit uncomfortable whilst sleeping.

The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, health centre with small gym, jacuzzi, Turkish bath, solarium shower UVA. The rooms in this fully refurbished hotel all have full facilities including bathroom with shower and hairdryer, color TV with satellite link, telephone, safer deposit box. Many of the rooms have a balcony or terrace and wonderful view of the lake. Guests also have availability of a private car park, a house bar and a wonderful panoramic terrace, where breakfast and dinner are served during the summer months, weather permitting. Our breakfast buffet is served until 10,30 a.m.
Fabulous family-run Hotel
Reviewed By Pek66The first thing to say about this hotel is that the family who run it are the most friendly and helpful people you could wish to meet - nothing was too much trouble. This is reflected in the attitude of the staff too - all were very helpful in every way. Two of us are coeliac and have to follow a gluten-free diet. We booked this hotel knowing that it would be catered for. Breakfast was great - everything GF was together in one place and there was plenty of choice. Evening meals were generally 3 choices of starter, main course and desert. Not always the greatest choice of dessert and soup was always one of the starters but all was very nicely done and we ate there almost every night as it was an enjoyable experience all round. We had one of the appartments across the road and it was spacious and clean and not at all noisy even though the balcony was almost over the road at the front. The views across the lake are stunning and having the village a very short walk away is a definite plus point. We made use of the free bus service down to the beach a couple of times but I would recommend a car for getting around as it is 10 minutes or so from the lake. We will definitely go back.

Our Residence Panorama "La Forca" lies in a wonderful position at an altitude of 650 m. above lake level. It has a spectacular view that extends all the way down to the lake for almost 35 km. The residence is composed of a main building and 6 other blocks. The apartment can accommodate up to 6 people and have 1 or 2 bedrooms and a balcony facing south so that they can offer you so many sunny moments as possible with a splendid lake view. When you book you can choose to reserve breakfast and dinner at our restaurant.
Nice view, difficult to drive
Reviewed By thedreamerMontevideoThe hotel is at the top of the mountain. That implies driving a lot everyday up and down to keep seeing other lake towns. Heater is charged per day and despite it is cold outside, they won’t even ask you if you want it on. Views from the room are amazing. One of the best of the lake. If there is at least a bit of snow, the landscape changes a lot when the tip of the mountains are white. Room is average. There were an ant invasion in the bathroom and bedroom and they resolved it with poison. Nobody cares there is people inside the room...or that there were a kid nearby. No oven or microwave in the room. Sheets for the queen size bed were too small and it was difficult to make the bed with two standard sheets. In the kitchen there is not an air extractor... only air purifier. That makes the room smell like food after cooking. No reception after 9pm.

Beautiful place
Reviewed By Granja15I can only support the other reviewers. Nice place, beautiful view, very nice host, good breakfast, yes good Grappa. However in the two rooms we booked the floor of the shower was made of glass. Combine that with soap and it gets very slippery. They had tried to put some kind of plastic mat that should prevent people from sliding. However i was sliding twice . my girlfriend once and a fellow traveller slid and fell to the ground in the bathroom when entering. I recommend that when taking a shower please be very careful.

Reviewed By jc693Hotel location is reasonably good if you don’t want to travel more than 10 kilometers (50km ride to Sirmione is 1.5 hour due to everyday traffic jams). Views are really nice. However, the FOOD IS TERRIBLE. We ordered half board and had to cancel the dinner after its first experience. The QUALITY IS WAY not only BELOW any Italian standard but below any ** hotel standard!!! E.g. supermarket overcooked pasta with ketchup was one of the first courses. Breakfast scrambled eggs were green!! Selection was completely poor and low cost, leftovers from dinner were served during breakfast, insects were digging into the ham, etc. etc. Some photos attached.

Nice small hotel
Reviewed By WCSStayed here for 4 nights. The hotel is located on a narrow lakeside road. Hotel was excellent, owners friendly and helpfull. The room was spacious and breakfast was reasonably good. The hotel restaurant appeared to be permanently closed, and there were only 2 restaurants within walking distance, both fairly expensive. This is not the most scenic part of the lake, but it is handy for visiting Lecco by car (with ferry trips from there up the lake to Bellagio) or taking the fast roads up the east side of the lake (mostly tunnels) towards Switzerland. There is free parking alongside the hotel. The area appears to be popular with windsurfers, who arrive early in the morning and park outside the hotel. Overall, the hotel is very good value for money.

Amazing Weekend Break

From the moment we arrived Mariella and Maria were both very hospitable and friendly. It's the little touches that make this place so special.. from the bouquet of flowers on arrival (for our wedding anniversary) to the ladies putting milk in our room to satisfy the English side of me and my need for a good cup of tea. The views of the lake are incredible, grounds are beautiful and the ladies have a perfect balance of being friendly and on-hand if needed and ensuring guests get the most out of their stay. I was surprised at the how close the main road was to the accommodation on arrival, but after settling in there I can honestly say that this did not impact on our stay whatsoever - in fact it made travelling out by car that much easier. We would like to give Maria a special mention for taking the time to speak with us and provide advice and recommendations on the local area. Thank you for a lovely relaxing stay and we hope to return again!

Our Hotel is located in the historic centre of Gardola /Tignale where you have the opportunity to dive into the authentic Italian lifestyle.Hotel Tignale offers its guests a large, private swimming pool (10 x 20 m) and children's pool (4 x 8 m) set in an attractive garden with free deckchairs, only 50 m far from the hotel, it’s open from mid June to mid September. The Hotel also features private parking (50 m. from the hotel) and TV lounge with satellite television and table tennis. The hotel offers you an internet point and Wi-Fi access in common areas.

Reviewed By Michael FClean rooms although a bit small for two people and the furnishings were basic. The pool was excellent with impressive views across Lake Garda. Parking layout was tight. Breakfast at a nearby restaurant was good.

Simply amazing
Reviewed By Miranda FWe stayed in the Foglia apartment in Al Terrazzo. Really spacious and well equipped. The balcony has the most stunning views, we spent lots of time just gazing out in the mornings and evenings. We arrived late and they very kindly let us eat in the restaurant even though they were closing up. Small issue with a door was very quickly resolved. Staff were lovely, everyone said hello as you walked past. Short walk to Ruculi for the pool and pizzeria both of which were fab. We would love to go back, perfect two weeks away.

Our residence Besàss lies on a stretch of mountain in a magnificent, panoramic position at 580 m above Lake Garda. The Residence is located within a short walking distance from the town centre of Tignale: Gardola. All the flats are south oriented, with a wonderful lake view and can accommodate up to six people. Residence “Besàss” offers you an outdoor swimming pool for adults and a children pool, a play ground for your children, a reception with a small bar, internet point, table tennis and big chess.
