Things to do in Vancouver, Canada: The Best Wine Tours & Tastings

May 14, 2022 Vivienne Hutton

Vancouver was founded as “Gastown” by an Englishman with a penchant for beer and storytelling. Today Gastown is a historic section of the Canadian metropolis, and the lively pubs still reflect the area’s former status as a sort of community drinking center. The city’s forests, grand parks, and impressive suspension bridge beckon travelers to explore them, as do the city’s shops and museums. Relive the glory of the 2010 Winter Games with visits to Olympic venues and the marvelous Olympic Cauldron.

We planned one extra day in Vancouver, prior to starting our Rocky Mountaineer vacation. Michael left a message at our hotel, indicating that he would pick us up at 0955 the next morning. He arrived right on time. His city tour was great. He limits his tour size to about 12 maximum (our group had 6 tourists). As the other reviewers have noted, he covers about as much of the city as possible within about a six hour time period, including stops with associated walking tours, and lunch break (extra cost). While on the bus, Michael is full of stories about the city and its residents, and some stories about his life. He speaks clearly, has much to share, has a great sense of humor, and is a very friendly guy. Most enjoyable!
