Level playing fields for football, cricket, soccer etc. A basket ball hoop off to the side, to add to the entertainment, a cricket cage for practice, exercise equipment, a kiddies safety cycle road set up, a great kids play ground, picnic and bbq facilities, gazebos, toilet facilities, a surrounding walk track, lots of parking, situated right beside kms of river walk tracks, dogs allowed on a leash.. this place ticks all the boxes. Nice to see the new bridge beside the park to allow access to the town side of the river after the last was washed away in flooding. Hats off to New Norfolk council for this great park!

Penguin Foreshore

Reviewed By Crystalline4u - Traralgon, Australia

Penguin is just an incredibly beautiful seaside town... it feels inviting as you walk along the foreshore. There is seating carefully placed for all ages ... so if you need to sit under a tree, they have arranged for that... or on the edge of the water... or would you like to recline. They have been very diverse in their approach to making the area inviting for visitors. Of course as you get out of the car, there is the eye catching Tardis along the foreshore. Never heard of the Tardis? Seriously is that possible... didn't everyone have to watch Dr Who as a child and see the villainous Daleks? They gave me nightmares... no really! They absolutely terrified me. However the Tardis being small on the outside and magically big inside appealed to my imagination. But moving on... focus! Stay with me here... the foreshore area overlooks a pristine beach and it has cafes directly opposite. It's a great place to spend some time.

The maze and other outdoor puzzles are very challenging and great fun. Grandbabies (10 & 7)enjoyed massively. Great toasted sandwiches for lunch. The proverbial hidden treasure. We caught sight of it on the Franklin road heading to Exeter.

Deloraine Apex Train Park

Reviewed By Crystalline4u - Traralgon, Australia

On the banks of the Meander River is this delightful children's park ... not only is there a train featured playground... they also have an old loco there for children to explore ... and maybe adults :) After all, I climbed up to have a look myself. There are also toilets and a BBQ area here... there is plenty of car parking. As I explored more I found there is a walk along the river next to the park and lovely gardens to look at. If you are on a road trip and need a break, this is an exceptional choice. From this location you can also walk to the nearest cafe and return with a coffee. There are historic buildings and sights to see quite close as well.
