The Farm (by AMAGO)

Book a tour and come meet your local sustainable farmer & our cows! The tour can change as we’re a working farm, but you'll come along to shadow us. Typically, we'll take you on a scenic drive to meet our teenage cows, you'll pet baby calves, we'll move the cows from pasture to the milking barn & you'll milk a cow. We end with a picnic-style tasting of our raw milk, fresh cheese, bread & jam. Make your reservation by calling, emailing, or messaging us via Messenger.

The dairy farm tour with Gena and Juao was one of the most memorable part of our trip in Azores. We traveled to Sao Miguel Azores with two young kids (5 and 7 y.o) and wanted them to have a true local, diverse, and rich experience. Everywhere you drive, you see cows eveywhere so after beaches, hot springs, hiking, cooking, and swimming, why would you not experience life in a dairy farm?? It was the best decision. From the beginning, booking the tour was so easy and Gena was always prompt and clear with questions. Kids had a chance to make Azorean friends, learn a ton about dairy farm, feed and milk cows, drink fresh tasty milk, ride tractors, enjoy an amazing view of the island, and picnic with delicious locally made jams and cheese. As adults, my husband and I learned so much from this experience about local life, vegetation, culture, and how farms operate on the island. I will not drink milk the same way again. Gena and Juao are such wonderful hosts and made the experience that much more fun. Truly eye opening! Please don’t miss it!

The tour through the plantation is well organized and the staff is very friendly. Rodrigo was super kind and gave a lot of extra information. Try the chocolate fondue - so good!

Typical Breakfast with Goats

Visit to the goat farm where they can be in contact with the animals. Then they will enjoy a traditional breakfast containing products derived from the milk of the goats from the farm they visited, as well as other typical products from the region.

We had a fantastic time with Ricardo and the animals. It was a fascinating experience where we not only learnt a lot about goats, the sustainable farming and produce, but also had loads of fun with the animals. Ricardo cares for his farm a lot, and is incredibly warm and welcoming. Definitely recommend this fantastic experience!

Ananas Santo Antonio

Who knew the pineapple had such a story? The tour is very brief, but entirely worth it. When I arrived, a tour was in progress, so I poked around the reception area. The host returned only a few minutes later, by which time I had read through the placards. Along with a small family, we viewed three green houses that featured the fruit in different phases of maturity. I was surprised to learn that a Azorean pineapple takes more than two years to fully mature. The tour is free and there are some great gifts to take home. I grabbed pineapple jam and a Pineapple Kima Soda. The plantation is minutes from Ponta Delgada hotels. I found it quite easily with my mobile phone satnav. My questions I forgot to ask; - Does the fruit grow faster or slower in other regions Brazil, Hawaii? - Are the SA pineapple sought after and do they fetch a premium? - Who are your main importers, branded companies and or by country? And lastly, I would like to have sampled the fruit at the plantation, but it was not on offer. Fortunately it was featured on this evenings menu at Tasquinha Vieira.

Worth a quick visit, especially as everywhere in Sao Miguel sells pineapple. I found this so interesting. Great to see how the pineapples grow. Also cute little gift shop and cafe. Lots of parking outside and nearby.
