Musee canadien de l’Arme et du Bronze

Museum whose mission is to preserve our heritage, act as a witness to the past, protect a legacy for future generations and raise awareness of a special world and its beauties and challenges.

I was dubious, but decided to be open minded and I’m glad I was. This is a small museum featuring modern armament/guns, displayed in the basement of a beautiful building. The gorgeous display cases and intelligently displayed pieces completely intrigued us for 90 minutes...even though I don’t understand the fascination people have with weapons. The real attraction was the founder and our guide, Jacques. He was so darn personable and spoke with such thoughtful authority on a subject that has massive financial, economic, cultural and emotional repercussions...I loved the opportunity to learn and see so much. Fantastic experience for everyone.

From the moment we stepped through the doors, our eyes feasted on the colours and textures of hundreds of pieces of art, beautifully arranged to view each artist’s work. Marie Eve is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable representative of her gallery, enthusiastically sharing her expertise of each art piece and the backgrounds of the artists. A wonderful experience and a most pleasurable way to spend time in La Malbaie

Pointe-a-Calliere, Montreal Archaeology and History Complex

Pointe-a-Calliere, the birthplace of Montreal and a National Historic Site, offers visitors the opportunity to explore history through an original underground circuit leading through archaeological excavations. At the start of their visit, an immersive multimedia show presents a high-speed view of the city's history, the remains come to life and the count down begins! The museum also offers year-round temporary local and international exhibitions. For Montreal's 375th anniversary in May 2017, Pointe-a-Calliere inaugurated a new pavilion highlighting Fort Ville-Marie.

Wonderful way to spend several hours admiring the history and architecture of Montréal. Great exhibitions both permanent and temporary. Plenty of hands on fun stuff for kids and big kids ???? We loved the memory collector and the multi media show. Exploring the history while basically being emerged in the actual structures was very cool. Plenty of excellent sounds and sights and “ real life “ experiences! Very reasonable on the US dollar at the moment and even the Canada rates seemed fair

A world of discovery where parents have as much fun as their kids!

I love this museum! My kids adore it as well!! There are a dozen little "kingdoms" you can visit, each one gives you a stamp for your passport! Ha ha It can get busy, and staff supervision is limited to the crane on the boat. The wifi is weak and drops often! Pokeone stops are all over! Make sure your phone is fully charged before you go!

Musee des beaux-arts de Montreal

The MMFA is one of Canada’s most visited museums and the eighth-most visited museum in North America, boasting more than 1.3 million visitors. The MMFA's original temporary exhibitions combine various artistic disciplines – fine arts, music, film, fashion and design – and are exported around the world. Its rich encyclopedic collection, distributed among five pavilions, includes international art, world cultures, decorative arts and design, and Quebec and Canadian art. The Museum has seen exceptional growth in recent years with the addition of two new pavilions: the Claire and Marc Bourgie Pavilion, in 2011, and the Michal and Renata Hornstein Pavilion for Peace, in 2016. The MMFA complex includes Bourgie Hall, a 460-seat concert hall. The Museum also houses the Michel de la Chenelière International Atelier for Education and Art Therapy, the largest educational complex in a North American art museum, enabling the MMFA to offer innovative educational, wellness and art therapy programmes

Located in a historic section of Rue Sherbrooke known as the Golden Square Mile, the Musée des Beaux-Arts Montreal, or Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, is the city's largest and one of the most widely regarded in Canada, if not all of North America. Adjacent to the building is the Avenue du Musée, a public street that is sometimes the site of large-scale art installations. The campus is composed of a number of pavilions, each one dedicated to specific disciplines, i.e., ancient art; archaeology; decorative arts and design; modern and contemporary art; and Quebec and Canadian art.

Canadian Museum of History

Experience Canada’s history in exciting new ways. The Canadian Museum of History is a destination of choice in the National Capital Region. An architectural jewel designed by Canadian architect Douglas Cardinal, the Museum is less than five minutes from downtown Ottawa and Parliament Hill. Explore Canada’s rich history and the outstanding achievements of First Peoples. Marvel at the world’s largest indoor collection of totem poles. The Canadian History Hall, our signature exhibition, will let you discover the events, personalities and historical currents that have shaped Canada — from time immemorial to the present day.

We were here twice during the last four days, returning today for the special Neanderthal exhibition that opened today. It is outstanding, but the special “Unceded” exhibition, focusing on indigenous North American architecture, is also excellent. The two floors of Canadian history are a great improvement on what was available for view when this was still the Museum of Civilization. The Grand Hall offers the best selection of Northwest Pacific art and artifacts this side of the B.C. Provincial Museum in Victoria, and the Museum of Anthropology on the UBC campus in Vancouver. It leads into the “First Peoples” exhibition, which is also well worth your while. A special treat is the complete collection of Canadian and British North American postage stamps. Highly recommended!

Musee Huron-Wendat

The museum introduces, in a very interactive fashion, a unique collection which brings one to the heart of the Huron-Wendat culture, explores themes from the historical territories and recalls native memories and knowledge. The museum offers more than a simple visit; it introduces a bona fide cultural voyage. Apart from all the collections, one can find, in close proximity to a restores brook, outdoor theme gardens where one may discover the beauty and power of the medicinal plants.

The Museum of the Huron-Wendat people only 16 km from the heart of Quebec City conveys the spirit of this unique people and their culture. Set on the banks of a river, a long house and stockade complement beautiful and informative interpretive exhibits inside. The adjacent hotel and restaurant should not be missed. We will definitely be back in warmer months to walk along the river.
