Piran (Slovene pronunciation: [piˈɾáːn] ( listen); Italian: Pirano [piˈraːno]) is a town in southwestern Slovenia on the Gulf of Piran on the Adriatic Sea. It is one of the three major towns of Slovenian Istria. The town has much medieval architecture, with narrow streets and compact houses. Piran is the administrative centre of the local area and one of Slovenia's major tourist attractions. Until the mid-20th century, Italian was the dominant language, but was replaced by Slovene as demographics shifted.

Historical Centre Food Tour: Come hungry there is a lot of food! We chose the historical center of Piran because it has the most to offer in terms of culture, history and of course wonderful food. This is where most of historic houses and other sights are found, many of them well over 1300 years old, and the food is just delicious if you know where to go. And, because it's very central, we can show you more than one area, including the famous, Tartini square, ancient town's wall, St. George Cathedral and the famous Venetian House. On this 5-hour guided walking food tour we eat our way through the neighborhood enjoying 4 delicious food tastings. Visit the local, colorful outdoor food market, admire old buildings, architecture and meet the wonderful families working hard to preserve local food traditions. I found out that sLOVEnia has a "love" word in its name. As far as I can see, the same is true for Alfredo TOURS and for the guides who work there to make your tour something special - a lovely experience.

We really enjoyed the tour through the centre of Piran and the tasting of some excellent food and wine. The guide was really nice and helpful and even managed to get us a table at a super busy restaurant afterwards. We can recommend this to anyone visiting Piran!

Amazing experience! Two hours to see the town, city history highlights, cultural facts, and a walk through of top restaurants. The end was a great salami, olive oil, and wine tasting that was truly fantastic. Great experience and recommend to all!!

First of all we have found this nice and very good guy who really know how to make your day … very friendly we have to say … apart this we find this very nice idea and we was surprised about food quality in this really nice countries in places that are so close one to another. My friend and I had only one day to explore Slovenia, so chose this tour with this company. Before we even left, Peter, our driver, called personally to reconfirm where and when we would meet, and then arrived right on time. Slovenia is a beautiful, clean country, and we loved hearing the stories along the way about the country and the places we would visit. The excursion was planned perfectly with just enough time for personal exploration without feeling rushed or herded along. In fact, because there was an overflow, our 8 person van included just the two of us. I so appreciated the fact that the tour wasn't just cancelled. That would have ruined all of our plans. If you are looking for a reliable, safe, congenial company and guide, this is the company to use. I travel a lot, and cruise often as well, so know how important it is to get back to port on time. I would thoroughly trust this company. As for Peter, our driver. He was so open, honest, and personable, it was like traveling with a trusted friend. He spoke wonderful English and displayed such a love and knowledge of his country. He gave us ideas as to where to go and offered a special lunch in Lake Bled. His knowledge of food and wine was most helpful. If you have even just one day to explore Slovenia, this is highly recommended.

Loved this tour so much the caves were incredible and so fascinating , it was so easy to keep up with the tour guide and the hike was not to bad and when finished u have 2 options on getting back to the main entrance one is a elevator and one is another small hike back

We were 6 friends on our trip to Slovenia, only one weekend and wanted to sea as much as possible during this time, so we asked the City Concierge to make us some suggestions what to do and see, to make the most out of our short stay. They suggested us to join this tour the first day, and the second day we went all together to the Slovenian seaside. We had so much fun, at the end we visited Lake Bled, Postojna cave, Predjama castle, Piran, had a coffe in Trieste, Italy then joined Istrian olive oil tasting, tried some local goodies, went for Truffule hunting and tased some really great and amazing local wines. For us this was just amazing 2 days in Slovenia, the guys from the agency made us feel so welcome everywhere we went. They really did their best to make these 2 days unforgatable for us and we were so happy that we chose them to host us during our stay… We are already planning our Balkan tour together in Spring..can't wait..
