The mosques, bazaars, and Turkish baths of Istanbul could keep you happily occupied for your entire trip: an eyeful of breathtaking architecture here, a good-natured haggle over a carpet there. Kick your trip off at the awe-inspiring Sultan Ahmet Camii (Blue Mosque), which is visible from many points of the city. Stroll the Galata Bridge and stop by the Miniaturk Park to see its tiny artifacts. The Grand Bazaar has thousands of shops to browse, while the Egyptian Bazaar is a fragrant trove of spices and fruits.

YAKTO IPEK DOKUMA is named after Yakto village in Antioch (Antakya) in Turkey that has been engaged in the art of silkworm breeding and silk weaving since late 1800s. We, BUYUKASIK Family members, have been maintaining and performing this handicraft in Yakto. Since early 2007, Mehmet BUYUKASIK has been selling handwoven silk products while demonstrating the production. In addition to silk products, you can also find other products such as traditional Anatolian patterns, cotton peshtemals, bed cover and sheets laboriously woven in Yakto. We would be delighted to have you visit our wholesale and retail sales shop on Galata Yuksek Kaldirim Street when you are in Istanbul.
