My husband and I had a two person wine tasting (given to me as a birthday gift) and we had an AMAZING experience! Because of the COVID situation, private tasting are be offered at the group price and so we had the entire place to ourselves. We tasted 5 wines, if I remember correctly, and were each given our own charcuterie plate to complement the wines. We learned so much about the history of wine in Hungary and the different regions. Highly recommend - was a very special experience.

Although I have experience with wines from various parts of the world, I had never experienced wines from Hungary. I was curious as to which grape varieties were grown and under what type of conditions. I had an abundance of questions and was glad to have been recommended by a friend to visit Mark at his winery. Mark showed authentic enthusiasm as he discussed his wines and gave some insights on how the grape from the vine ended up in the bottle(s) we poured. It was a wonderful experience to not only taste these unique wines but to also get involved in part of the production. I can highly recommend visiting Mark but we warned, his passion and commitment are very contagious and you may leave feeling that you need to make wine too!

I booked this experience as a surprise for my partner to celebrate our anniversary in Budapest. I only told him that morning what we were about to do. It was very simple to keep the secret though as our wonderful pixie, Marti was waiting outside to pick us up! She drove us to our kitchen and on the way, showed us around the city. There was very little planning or stress involved. I think it's a wonderful touch to the day. We started (the morning!) cooking session with Palinka! And I mean ... you know the cooking session goes well after that! ???? We cooked Fish Soup, Apple Pie and Chicken Paprikash. I can't even describe how dear this experience is to our hearts. It's irreplaceable. It's not just a cooking lesson. It's an entire experience of spending half a day with a wonderful person and Budapest local. You get shown around the city, learn about the dishes you're cooking and why you're cooking them a certain way and get lots of insights into the culture and city of Budapest. Marti even brought us to our next destination for the day instead of back home! Which was so extremely helpful. It felt like she was an aunt that we knew from Budapest dropping us off, rather than a stranger we had met that morning! I'm the type of person to look around all the possible experiences, research a lot and hope I picked the right choice at the end. I'm so happy with this choice though! Don't look any further. Seriously. Book this experience. It will be the highlight of your trip. It's an amazing experience. We absolutely hope to see Marti again when we're back in Budapest!!! We wish you all the best and Thank You for this experience. Hope to see you very soon!
