I just spent the day at Zoo Leipzig with my 3 daughters, ages 10, 13, and 17. What a fantastic place! It took us about 6 hours to get through the entire zoo. As with most city zoos, space is at a premium, but this zoo is laid out well, the animals seem very happy, and there are multiple viewing opportunities at each exhibit. Nearly every single plaque is fully translated in English too, which is really great. Also, there are many Coronavirus precautions in place. Lots of sanitizing stations, and masks are required in all the buildings. Definitely a great way to spend the day! Highly recommended!!

Tiergarten Nuernberg

Tiergarten Nuremberg is set in an extraordinary and unique landscape. By taking a walk through the large, densely wooded park the visitors discover open-air enclosures skilfully fitted into the red sandstone of the region. Watch dolphins and sea lions swim and play in the open air at the Dolphin Lagoon. Explore life at the Amazon, complete with rainfall periods, at the Manatee House. Go to the Blue Saloon with its vast panorama windows and experience the fascinating underwater world of both manatees and dolphins. Children will love the Kinderzoo, where they can pet animals and discover a lot more...

We had a lovely visit here on Boxing Day with our 2 year old daughter. So many of the animals have inside enclosures and the whole zoo is in a huge woodland with gorgeous walks between the large exhibits. We couldn’t believe how close we could get to some of the animals without glass between us (giraffes and rhinos in particular). The Manatees are also amazing. Highly recommended and they are open every day of the year!

Difficult to praise enough. Have visited many aquaria and this was the tops. Tanks were all themed by areas round the Baltic and Great Britain. After the live animals there was an enormous space where you could lie in comfort and gaze at full sized models of whales

Wildpark Alte Fasanerie Klein-Auheim

Reviewed By RoySproson - Hanau, Germany

I visit the Fasanerie with friends and family each year at different times of the year. We always enjoy the promenade to see the animals which are well known , goats , wild boar , sheep and exotic , lynx , wolves , owls , deer , bison......in vast open space within the forest at the Western edge of Hanau. There is a learning space which is interactive. In the summer , there are drinks and ice cream to rehydrate thirsty visitors. There is an adventure park for the younger members of the family . The service is smiling but discrete and the price is low - the children can also feed the goats and sheep. Highly recommended for visitors to the region.

Wildpark Grafenberg

We enjoyed a couple of hours, in the chilly winter sun , walking around this beautifully kept property , admiring the land and the animals. The highlight for all of us was buying a 1 Euro pot of animal food, walking through a large pasture and hand feeding the friendly , gentle deer. There are play areas, toilets shes picnics areas. All clean and tidy. Theres plenty of free parking and admission is also free!
