Driving through the pass we were blown away by grotesque Outeniqua mountain, the fresh air, and gorgeous surroundings. Beautifully kept clean and an absolute must-see for any visitor to the Garden Route. Living in George, it remains a must to head back for a Sunday drive and experience nature at its best, again.

Great waves, and friendly locals. Beware of the rip currents when entering the ocean, I would advise that you ask someone that knows the beach setup before you enter it.

The last couple of years the management of the Garden really invested a lot in the upgrades of it. Staff also very friendly.

This Island can only be reached via a VERY narrow yet well maintained bridge. I suggest that you take the turnoff opposite SPAR for easier more accessible public parking. Best times to visit the Island is out of season, January to February for lovely quiet beaches and swimming in the warm lagoon. Also very beautiful on misty mornings for some stunning pictures. The long stretched out beach also lends itself to long strolls. You can walk around the Island and there is lots of bird life to see.

At the Garden Route Bird of Prey Rehab Centre we rehab injured, sick and orphaned birds of prey, with our main goal being to release them again. We invite you to come join us on the exhibition side of our centre where we will take you on a guided tour, and teach you about all the different birds of prey.
