The shores of Lake Geneva have attracted visitors and invaders for millennia. The cheerful city of Geneva sits on the lake's western shore, lofty snowcapped peaks creating a gorgeous backdrop on all sides. The city is perfect for exploring on foot; rent a bike to venture further. The top of any itinerary should be visits to Geneva's lakefront and its famed water fountain, the Flower Clock in the English Garden, St. Peter's Cathedral, Reformation Wall, Place Neuve and the birthplace of the U.N.

This old power station on the Rhone, once a symbol of the city's rapid industrial growth at the end of the 19th century, today serves as a theater.

I was on a Suisse Romande concert in Victoria Hall, the conductor was Jonathan Nott and I enjoy Haydn and Beethoven music there. I bought the cheapest ticket, this was only 10 CHF, but I could enjoy the athosphere of the barock Victoria Hall enterior and fantastic music. Try it, if you travel to Geneva!!

One of my favorite theatres in Geneva. I have been there over 10 times, have seen different performances, and it was always inspiring, up-to-date, modern, touchy and often - funny. I like everything about this place, it's a simple, friendly, cosy theatre, which I especially recommend for couples, since humor there is often provoking and focused on men-women relations. Lovely place to go to. And also helps to improve French for those who learn it: )

The Grand Theatre de Geneve is Geneva’s opera house. It stages opera and ballet performances, recitals and concerts whose level of excellence identifies the Grand Theatre as one of the great opera houses of the world. The Grand Theatre’s technical, artistic and administrative teams all come together, with their specific skills, to form a staff of approximately 350 members, whose individual skills are all essential to the success of our productions.
Standing inside this gilded theater helps you understand the theory of “art for the sake of art.” This theatre is a metaphor for something more grandiose than I’m able to create – considering I’m just standing with my mouth agape. Perhaps it’s something that will take years to sketch, paint, and dry in the imagination. But at least it’s there in the memory bank. The play? Oh, I’m not so sure I remember. That intermission though… My date took a long walk in the rain for cash so we can buy champagne. I stand like a top, my head looking high to the goddesses on the ceiling while my body spins in place. Hundreds of people have crowded, surrounding this heavenly display of angels and saints in bright colors covering every inch of ceiling. This is the closest to heaven I’ve been, and I imagine these deities are keeping watch over the arts, where they should be.
