Springtide Sailing Charters

Springtide Charters offers exclusive sailing charters aboard a sleek, custom built 50ft mono-hull yacht called 'The Outeniqua'. Cruises depart daily (weather permitting) from the popular Knysna Waterfront find our Yacht moored in the waterfront next to our brightly painted lighthouse kiosk and ticket office. After exiting the quays our yacht sets sail across the expansive Knysna estuary and out to into the ocean through the Knysna Heads. We sail parallel to the beautifully rugged Knysna coastline and depending on the sailing conditions we either head east towards the Noetzie area or west towards the Buffalo Bay area. The thrill of sailing surrounded by such show stopping scenery makes this an adventure of a lifetime.Sunset Cruises, 2,3 & 4 hour Day charters, private hire (maximum of 12 passengers).

Waterval Rust en Vrede

A very recomendable thing to visit. From the gate (entrance fee 61 Rand for 1 to 4 people) it's a 2.5 km drive on a gravel road, then 300 m walking over various bridges - this es fun! At the parking there is a picnic area. Friendly staff at the gate.

Tsitsikamma Woodcutters Journey

Journey with us down the old Stormsriver Pass, and experience the indigenous forest from the comfort of a specially-designed vehicle. Follow the elephant trail, passing yellowwoods and stinkwoods, while hearing about the history of the area and the indigenous flora and fauna. Enjoy a delicious light snack at a beautiful picnic site next to the Stormsriver.

On frequent trips to the Garden Route, I have always wanted to visit the Tsitsikamma Forest. So this time, with Family/Friends from the UK and after Our chat with Tony and Maria Kinahan, while staying at Lily Pond Country Lodge in Nature’s Valley, We took a drive to the forest and booked onto the Woodcutters Journey..... What an amazing experience! If You are interested in Nature and don’t mind the rugged terrain, the Journey in an Open Truck, even for Us Older Folk, all 60 plus, was Exciting and Enlightening. Our Guide, a Young Man of 28 years, having lived most of His Life in the Area, was Extremely Knowledgeable and His, at times, almost Humorous Account of Events, has left a Lasting Memory and We just Loved the Whole Experience.
