Things to do in Florianopolis, State of Santa Catarina (SC): The Best Museums

July 8, 2021 Trinity Boughner

Florianopolis was dubbed by Brazilian weekly Veja as "the best place to live in Brazil", so it’s only natural that tourists would want to check it out, too. And do they ever. Florianopolis is a thriving destination for its perfect beaches, excellent surfing, amazing seafood, and juxtaposition of a modern megacity with 16th-century colonial fortresses and relaxed markets and parks.

Galeria de Arte Luciano Martins

I opened my art studio in Lagoa da Conceição, where I tried to create a place that looks just like Florianópolis, a city that is drawing attention from people all over the world. Here, in my studio (which is also a gallery where I exhibit my paintings), I created an environment as free of walls as possible to allow people to see the paintings, to question them, to look at my books, to see what I’m working on. And yes, I’m always here, either painting, walking around or just having a coffee while reading or chatting with our visitors. Luciano Martins
