There is also a fun café RUUDI. The dishes are simple yet delicious, and a little mysterious, the ingredients are local, and our people are awesome. RUUDI is a truly lovely place to spend time at.

St. Olaf’s church is a really beautiful church to visit, which is located just 7 minutes walking distance from the Old town Main Square, and it’s really nice to visit specially because you can climb the 123 meters high tower, with a narrow and kind of scared spiral staircase made in stones, that gives a little “adventure” feeling, but it’s totally worth when you get to the top and see the beautiful view from Tallinn old town city. We didn’t pay entrance fee to see the church, however if you decide to climb the staircase tower you need to pay a small fee, we paid 2 euros back in 2017. Eli: 5 / Serge: 5 Recommended: Yes, even if you decide to not climb the staircase Tower, it’s a beautiful 12th century church to visit. Tips: - Comfortable shoes are recommended, specially if you decide to climb the staircase tower; - If you are afraid of heights, do not start to climb the tower, it’s kind of scared. - Check on line the church open hours and if you prefer to visit without a tour guide, as we did, it’s always nice to read a little about the history of the church, even in Wikipedia.

When Estonia was still behind the Iron Curtain, this was for many Estonians a window on the free world - at night one could even catch sight of the lights of Helsinki. To illustrate the view, visitors can use multimedia screens: to increase the area visible in it or seeing what the place looked like in the past. It is a view that must be seen. And - experienced! Bus information The TV Tower is served by city buses 34A, 38 and 49 ("Teletorn" stop), as well as by CityTour and City Sightseeing tourist buses (green line, Mere pst - Teletorn). A short journey on bus 34A takes you to this amazing tower which provides panoramic views of the city, Old Town and port of Tallinn looking towards Finland. Well worth the entrance fee and my son and I visited on a clear day with spectacular views. For those who are OK with heights, you can have a supervised walk around the outside edge attached to a steel cable, of course. I found it very interesting to check out the distances to many other world cities. This was described very effectively on the floor as you walked around. A must visit while in Tallinn.

The Narva Castle is one of the main attractions of the city. In the seventh decade of the 13th century, the Danes established a castle as a residence for the Danish King’s vice-Regent. The Narva Castle is one of the most diverse and best preserved defense structure in Estonia. The area of the castle is 3.2 hectares, and the highest point is the Tall Hermann Tower (51 meters), which offers views over Narva, the Kreenholm factory and Ivangorod Fortress across the river in Russia. Today you can visit the museum in the castle, were the displays explain the history of Narva and the castle.

Standing on the the edge of Estonia and looking over the river into Russia. Throw in a spectacular sunrise and the fact that your standing on the edge of the European Union and you will be captivated by this fascinating spot. The castle on the Estonian side and the Ivangorod Fortress on the Russian side add to the allure of this stunning location. I would say it's a must see in Narva, whether you are just passing through or spending the night.

Suur Munamagi is the highest point in the Baltics and stands at 318 metres from sea level. The observation tower on Suur Munamagi provides a splendid view of Estonian nature within the range of 50 km. The existing tower is the 6th in number; it was built in 1939 and reconstructed in 1969; its present height is 29.1 metres. The tower was renovated again in 2005 and an elevator was added to its back side. Interesting to know:* when standing on the top of the tower, you will be 346.7 metres above sea level.* the very first tower was built in 1812 by soldiers and under the supervision of a Russian officer.

From here you can get a panoramic view of the Old Town. Lots of church steeples and red roofed buildings. It's magical seeing it all laid out before you! Try to go early or late in the day to avoid the crowds.

The Pesapuu watchtower is 30 meters high (the top observation platform is 27 meters from the ground) and it resembles a tree with two birdnests. Karmo Tõra, an architect, is the author of the idea. The watchtower is eye-catching during both the day and the night. At night, lights of different colours are turned on to shed light on the so-called birdnests or observation platforms and the so-called golden egg on the top of the tower. Tourists that reach the top are offered picturesque views of the Nightingale Valley and the rest of Võru County. Pesapuu is opened around-the-clock.

The Pesapuu Watchtower is with very funny appearance, but from the top of the tower opens very nice view to the South Estonian hilly landscape
