This is certainly a prominent recreational area for the summer, which is when I did my solo hiking expedition. There are high mountain trails and viewpoints to admire to crystal clear blueish green waters. At lakeside, you’ll find bikers and walkers and joggers. There is a scenic and busy commercial campsite.

Popular easy walking route from either St. Moritz, Celerina or Pontresina to the lake of Staz in winter, summer and autumn. In summer, you can swim in the lake. The nearby restaurant is a hot spot during the whole year with an outside terrasse and an inside restaurant. In summer, you can rent a sun chair but the price is much too high, 90 swiss francs for the day (none of loungers was occupied when we were there).

The path around this beautiful lake make it an easy walk. It took me about an hour to walk round it. You get lovely views of the mountains all round, as well as of the town.

A great and find place- quite beautiful (see my photos- mostly from above). Yes- it really is that color of the water!! On the day that I visited, there were many tens of wing surfers sitting the landscape across the lake.... and at lakeside, I saw many bikers and bikers and party revelers enjoying a sunny Sunday. As too can see from my many photos from above- this is definitely a place to see
