Vale da Ribeira da Serta

Reviewed By LerrynBB - Plymouth, United Kingdom

The rivers dominate Serta, their banks offering scenic walks with ancient trees reflecting in the still waters. Beside the river we have a well laid out parkland leading to bridges, bars and shops. Vale da Ribeira is steeped in history dating back to the Romans, and throughout the town plaques explain the cultural and industrial story. If you are visiting the area, driving into Serta is well worth it,head for the Casa Cultura in the centre of town and take relaxed coffee beside the river, its chilled, natural and friendly. Cross the Roman bridge to find a restaurant and outdoor bar serving local dishes and great bar snacks, always brilliant value for money. Serta has all amenities including supermarkets, banks, post office, artesan fairs, centro de saude, cinema, pharmacy, vets and unique independent stores.
