My wife found these reasonable priced tickets for a pre Valentine celebration play. It was a very casual evening. It was not well attended but we really had a good time. Will recommend for a budget evening of good value entertainment

The coffee shops, quaint restaurants, ice cream shops, kids play areas, and the general life that makes up Noordhoek living will enchant you. Locals come for a coffee on horseback, or barefoot, or with a pack of dogs and all spill into the street as they chat away. Such a great variety of food and best of all the beach is a few km's away.

The Leopard Bar

A friend told us to visit the hotel and the leopard bar to come and watch the sunset and wow was he right. The outside terrace is the place to watch a daily treat of the sun going down. Truly amazing. The bar itself is brilliant, loads of staff catering for your alcoholic needs. Very friendly despite the posh surrounding and as the RAND is cheap the the mighty pound it’s very reasonable too. Definitely recommend a visit, we also had tea at the grill room (see separate review) again very good and well priced.

Ok, so when one of my friends suggested we have a Friday afternoon drink at a Whisky Bay, me being a gin drinker - I wasn’t to keen. I can honestly say I’m so glad she talked me into going! The Bascule Whisky, Wine and Cocktail Bar is located on the water’s edge of the beautiful Victoria & Alfred Waterfront marina, with relaxing views back over the marina to Table Mountain. If you’re having trouble finding it the bar is at the bottom of the renowned Cape Grace Hotel. Boasting a selection of over 400 whiskies from around the world, along with an exceptional selection of the Cape’s most renowned wines, there truly is something for everyone. We arrived at the bar at about 4.30pm on a Friday evening, everyone is well dressed and the bar has a cool nautical theme, you can sit outside, we chose inside out of the heat. If your knowledge of Whisky is not the best, I would strongly suggest you try the Tastings, a selection of 3 Whisky’s, along with tasting notes so you can look like you know what you are doing. We must have looked a little like armatures lol, so it was so nice to have one of the managers sit down with us and talk us through the tasting (See photo of him below). I should also mention that all the staff were so genuine and friendly, great service. The bar gets a lot busier at night; it really is the place to be seen in Cape Town, lively music and tasty tapas dishes. Sure it's a little upmarket, however well worth the experience, don’t miss it.

The Gin Bar

The Gin Bar (or Secret Gin Bar) is one of Cape Town's hidden gems, situated in a gorgeous, secret, Mediterranean-style courtyard, and accessed only through a chocolate shop. We have over 140 gins on our menu, and over 80 local, South African gins. We also have a selection of wine and beer and other spirits on offer. With double volume ceilings, lots of natural ventilation and an open air courtyard we are definitely a favourite when it comes to Covid safety.

This is an old favourite. I first came here in 2017 and it was much smaller. I came here again in 2019 and it was bigger but the drinks are still just as great. This hidden bar is situated on Wale Street at the back of Honest Chocolate and it is definitely one of Cape Town’s gems. It is so beautiful and the aesthetic is perfect. It’s great for an afternoon of catching up with friends or drinks after dinner. The bar tenders were very helpful on every occasion I went there and the gin cocktails are quality. A must!
