We booked a private transfer from Zurich to Verbier. The service was outstanding. Dejan Crijetic is the owner/operator of this small firm. He was accessible by text and email. Every message I sent him was answered almost instantly (assuming it was daytime in Switzerland). Dejan drove our trip himself in this case. He met us as we exited customs and the van was parked less than 50 feet from the curb at the airport.He delivered us to our chalet and on the return trip he was on time to get us back to Zurich. He is so friendly and helpful. The van was clean and new and comfortable. My wife's comment was "wouldn't the world be great if everyone ran their business like this". Thanks Dejan.

“Basel Badischer Bahnhof” (a.k.a. “Basel Bad Bf”) is one of the two train stations in Basel, Switzerland, and it is very convenient station for the river cruise passengers with pre-cruise or post-cruise train travel in the direction of Germany. Although Bad bf is on Swiss territory, it has been operated by German railroad (DB) with German efficiency. The distance between the dock and “Basel Bad Bf” is much shorter than the distance between the dock and “Basel SBB”, Basel’s another train station. As a result, taxi fare is much cheaper for the trip between the dock and “Basel Bad Bf” (about 8 minute ride) than that between the dock and the other station “Basel SBB” (about 22 minute ride). At the end of our Viking River Cruise’ “Rhine Getaway” journey, our ship docked at the cruise ship pier in Basel, and our car driver, who was arranged via our ship’s Purser’s desk, dropped us at “Basel Bad Bf”. Inside the station, we felt that we were inside a typical German city train station with all the signs in German. We simply walked to the direction of the platform for our ICE train by following the signs, including “Zol zu den Zugen” sign (“Customs to the Train”). Since this train station itself is operated by DB (Deutsche Bahn) due to 1852 treaty between Switzerland and Germany, we did not come across any immigration/customs processing. We simply walked through the underground passageway to our platform entrance, and went up the platform to take our ICE train to Frankfurt.
