Things to do in Camps Bay, Western Cape: The Best Tours

May 6, 2022 Toi Mattera

Shaded spots go early at Cape Town's crowded Camps Bay, where locals picnic and play in the strong Atlantic waves. Look for the flagged bathing areas for safer swims for all the family. Festive cafes sit adjacent to the sands, which are dramatically set at the foot of the Twelve Apostles mountains.

We spent a few days in Cape Town, however we would have missed so much if we didnt do this tour. Our guide not only took us to interesting places but he knew so much about each place and you could tell he really has a passion for Cape Town, its history and its people. Table Mountain was a big tick off the bucket list and our guide knew the perfect time for us to go in order to avoid the crazy long lines we had heard of. The best view of Cape Down is from way up in the clouds and we loved every part of the day !

Given the current COVID-19 concerns, a private tour was just what my partner and I needed. We had an absolutely amazing time with our tour guide Armando! He was incredibly knowledgable about the sites we visited on our tour as well as entertaining, making for an all around great day touring the cape. Our pick up was timely as well. Armando also allowed for reasonable breaks in between tour sites so we can really enjoy the spots we visited. Anyone interested in a comfortable and fun tour should certainly book with these guys they are great!

Four of us had a fabulous tour with Bev and Ivan. They were great drivers and very knowledgable and friendly tour guides. We've done the area a couple of times before by self-driving, but this was a much more fun way to do it. I was a bit apprehensive before we set out, not being a great fan of motorbikes, but I felt very safe at the maximum, sedate speed of 50kph. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone. Thanks again guys. We will be back!!

This is a great tour of one of the most popular in Cape Town. It takes travelers right along the Atlantic Seaboard where there are some of the most expensive residential areas in Africa. It also brings travelers close to some of the beautiful beaches in Cape Town - 4 of the 10 beaches on the blue flag list. Travelers enjoy some of the most breathtaking views along the way with typically African landscape. Dramatic mountains and a wide variety of the fynbos family plant species. There are also wild animals seen on this tour with the most popular being the Chacma baboon. It is a tour that exposes the rich marine life of the Cape which includes seals and whales. The plant species is equally amazing with the eve popular Protea which is the South African national flower. Conclusively it is an outdoor opportunity, fun-filled, and exploring tour. This tour is rich in history and there is also a taste of South African food along the way.

Inclusions: Pick up from your hotel and drop off after the tour, Air-conditioned vehicle, Registered and Accredited Tourist Guide, Bottled water

Exclusions: Entry fees to Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope up to R320 pp, Optional entry fees to the penguins at Boulder's Beach up to R160pp, Optional ferry trip to Seal Island up to R80pp, Lunch, Gratuities
