Bude (/bjuːd/; Cornish: Porthbud) is a small seaside resort town in north Cornwall, England, UK, in the civil parish of Bude-Stratton and at the mouth of the River Neet (also known locally as the River Strat). It is sometimes formerly known as Bude Haven. It lies southwest of Stratton, south of Flexbury and Poughill, and north of Widemouth Bay and is located along the A3073 road off the A39. Bude is twinned with Ergué-Gabéric in Brittany, France. Bude's coast faces Bude Bay in the Celtic Sea, part of the Atlantic Ocean. The population of the civil parish can be found under Bude-Stratton.

Had an amazing night in the secret room at The Barrel. It was a surprise birthday treat which started off with the whole pub singing Happy Birthday and then being whisked off to our own special little space, cleverly decorated to give the illusion of...no better not say, in case it spoils it for any one else! But impressive to say the least. The local craft gin tasting experience had been pre-booked and our excellent host expertly advised us on tonic pairings and kept us regularly topped up with fresh ice. The whole evening was fantastic and can thoroughly recommend booking the secret room for a special occasion or just because!

We booked a meal at this pub for our first night before we came on holiday . We found the staff so friendly and helpful. The meal was fabulous. We then booked for the next day. Another really good meal. We then decided to book for every night of our stay. When you find somewhere this good it’s pointless looking around for anything else where you may not enjoy the food. We were allowed to take our dogs in too. Highly recommended. Will definitely come again if we are in the area

... or to the pizza shop next door for dinner. We had a fantastic evening meal with a few pints - the pizzas from La Bocca next door were delicious and hand-delivered. Best of all was Jamie the landlord - he was very friendly but also went the extra mile to ensure the safety of his customers with his post-lockdown measures. Would definitely come back here again when we return to Bude!

Bude's number one live music venue, hosting a range of artists from blues bands, to jazz groups, to electro funk DJ's, and many more. Keep an eye on our Facebook page or website for what's up and coming. A boutique cafe in the day, a night to remember in the evenings. With coffees, speciality spirits, a sunny courtyard, pool table and darts board, and dogs more than welcome, we cater for all.
