Things to do in Berlin, Germany: The Best Lessons & Workshops

September 16, 2021 Kelli Reichel

Berlin is an edgy city, from its fashion to its architecture to its charged political history. The Berlin Wall is a sobering reminder of the hyper-charged postwar atmosphere, and yet the graffiti art that now covers its remnants has become symbolic of social progress. Check out the Weltzeituhr (world time) Clock, topped by a model of the solar system, then turn back time by dining at the historic Zur Letzten Instanz, a 16th century restaurant that was frequented by Napoleon and Beethoven.

Burnt Sienna Art School Berlin

Burnt Sienna Art School Berlin was founded in 2016 at the now closed AGORA studios in Neukolln. It was originally an Art Club for local artists to get together and draw from a model. The school has moved to a beautiful attic space and has evolved into a rich community offering painting and drawing classes year round. Alongside the courses the studio offers regular life drawing sessions and studio time for artists. The shared Burnt Sienna studio offers independent studio time to artists in Berlin. We have up to four working stations and all the basic materials included for oil painting. In the spring of 2020 Burnt Sienna will introduce an international artist residency. The selected artists will work for a month in the studios and give classes alongside an artist talk and exhibition of works created. The school prides itself on offering small class sizes, the highest level of teaching and flexibility towards artistic development.
