The best available Villas to stay near Emilia-Romagna

April 27, 2023 Franklyn Hardiman

Nearly crossing northern Italy from the Adriatic Sea westward, Emilia-Romagna gets its name from Via Emilia, the Rimini-to-Piacenza ancient Roman road it straddles. With a rich mix of age-old agriculture and modern industry, the region is home to many historic and cultural gems, both in its larger towns like Bologna, Modena and Ravenna, as well as in its many small hilltop villages. Of course, the region’s best offerings also include native culinary wonders like parmigiano cheese and tortellini.

A great location

Reviewed By bosmates

On the edge of the City, accessible by bus or on foot. We enjoyed walking to all the sites of interest and enjoyed the food in the bistros and Restaraunt recommended by Andrea and Francesca. They were the perfect hosts. Beautiful breakfast at which we spent with four different nationalities over our four day stay! Andrea interpreted at times when asked, and made us feel so Welcome. The lounge area was comfortable to sit in and take in views of the City and our room with adjoining bathroom was very comfortable.

Like staying at your friends house

Reviewed By Katarina E

I stayed here for three nights. Very nice couple that welcomed me. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. Quite simple but have all you need. Air condition and showers work perfectly. In the morning you can enjoy your coffe in the garden with a view of the beautiful garden. This time I didnt have time for much sightseeing otherwise you can bike about 7 k to the beach. Only minus is the distance from the train station which means taxi becomes expensive, bus stops movin around 7 pm. Excellent service from the owners who really make you feel welcome.

Lovely Little Hotel but Had Noise Problem

Reviewed By Fountainhall

Visiting friends in Piacenza, I wanted a small guest house close to the station for day trips by train to other nearby cities. This part of the Via Roma is not a tourist area but it is an easy 15-minute walk to the historic center and less than 10 minutes from the station. My room was quite lovely. The bed was comfortable, the new bathroom spotless and the water always hot. There is no coffee shop. Instead of breakfast, they leave in the rooms some Nespresso capsules and tea sachets, two croissants and two packets of toast with jam. Water and orange juice are in the fridge - all included in the room price. My one complaint concerns noise. There was occasional noise in the area next to me. Worse, this is an old building with wooden beam ceilings and floors. I am not sure who was above me (I was on the first floor up) but the noise between 9 and 10 pm was incessant. Outdoor shoes on wooden floors, lots of moving of chairs and a few other bangs and items being dropped. Thereafter it all but ceased, but if you want an early night, request a top floor room if such are available.

We stayed in Silk suite. It was clean, modern and I would class as high end. Location is great, facing the beach and within easy walk of great restaurants and shops. Olga cleans the suite daily and the owners are very helpful and respond to messages quickly. There’s also secure parking across the road to the rear of the property if required at an additional fee. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would highly recommend. We will be returning.

Da favola

Reviewed By 955giadat

We had a great lunch with some of Bologna specials. Good service, English spoken staff. Nice surroundings of the villa, spacious parking. Perfect place to discuss business over lunch and enjoy local specialties. Ravioli with ricotta were tender.

Beautiful restored classic authentic house with modern facilities

Reviewed By RolandVersteeg

This is just a hidden pearl in the Emiglia-Romagna region. Close to the Adriatic coast (Riccione, Rimini, Misano, Cattolica) en with San Marino nearby one could find an even better place than the hotspots of Tuscany. La Madonnina is a restored 18th century building and the owners maintained the classic look and feel using antique furniture, all beautifully restored and where needed added with modern equipment (like modern beds within the old framework). There are three appartments and for two year in a row we had a 2 weeks hopliay there, using the 4-persons appartments. There's a garden at the back, a big terrace and the appartments are big, comfortable (airconditioning) and nicely decorated. All is very clean thanks to the lady of the house, towels and sheets were changed regulalrly. The son of the house Paolo speaks very good English (for an Italian) and is easily approachable foor questions. Next to the two 4-persons appartment (2 bedrooms, 1 double, 1 twin) there's a smaller appartment for two persons. In the soutterain of the building there's a small 'museum' with the ols stable restored and collector's items are on display. Through this little historical part one can enter the parking lot, the garden. The appartments are very reasonably priced and for sure we recommend it to our friends and families.
