Major disappointment on first day alone
Reviewed By dinganfSeveral major issues with this property that are quite lethal from my first experience with Club Med Aranya. 1. After a more than 3 hour drive from Beijing, our car is stopped at the Aranya community gate. Despiser showing our reservation at the Club Med and having the guard speak directly with Club Med to verify us, we are not allowed into the community. The guards are also very rude although to be fair they are not Club Med employees. This managerial glitch caused us to be literally waiting at the gate in our car for half an hour marking a bad first impression. 2. We have booked two connecting rooms for the family. We repeated this in the booking and on the phone. But at the check-in we are told no connecting rooms were available anymore. This was later resolved after a manager intervened. 3. Concierge misplaced our luggage. One bag wasn’t sent up for more than 24 hours. I had to go to concierge myself to find it. I know you shouldn’t expect much from Club Med but still my first personal experience with this property has killed all fantasy I harbor with the brand.

Summer stay at the beach
Reviewed By jpmckeon111The hotel is a 5 Starr rated. The rooms are very nice. The staff are friendly and were helpful but are not English speaking. The room service and laundry service were very good and easy to use. The beach is across the road and great for jogging along the board walk. There is a sports complex next door which hosts soccer games which I was able to attend. The fitness center is ok but not all the machines were working when I visited.

Hard to find but in a great location!
Reviewed By OtabengaThis hotel is in a great location, just steps from the Lizhengmen Gate entrance to the park and summer palace. It was a challenge to locate using Didi because the name (Chengde Kairen Huafu Jiudian) is different from what the hotel calls itself: Yunshe (云舍) Hostel at 50 Lizhengmen Dajie (丽正门大街 as shown in my pictures). We spent over 45 minutes searching on foot until some kind stranger was able to take us to the front door! Also, while the rooms are nice and clean, I thought that the room rate was too high for a place that calls itself a hostel. The mattress was super hard too. Staff were very friendly but you have to know some Chinese. International credit cards are not accepted so you'll have to pay on arrival using cash. Shower was good and hot once you let it run a bit. Chinese style breakfast was abundantly delicious and freshly prepared.

Reviewed By au20085.1到处人满为患，这个地方还算清静，道路畅通，从南二环出发，1个半小时就到了，高速免费还不堵，这个方向选对了。 很大的一个城，很气派，虽然有点冷清，但国企能扛住啊。真舒服。 酒店的硬件还行，就是后期的维护差了些，房间的床单气味不太好，毛巾不白不太干净的样子。 去了戏水乐园，5.1竟然设施都没开放，人少的可怜，就当是专场了，呵呵。这时能有这么清静的地方难得啊。 吃饭就差些了，到城对面的小馆里凑合了一顿。
