Reviewed By Chrissy886I was a bit hesitant booking into a motel as our experiences haven't been great. We had a 3 night stay. The owners were so welcoming and showed us to our room. Entering our room we were so surprised at how big the room was, it was very clean, peaceful and so relaxing something you rarely get in a motel, the pool and the spa bath was a bonus for my son. Thank you so much for having us, we rally enjoyed our stay ?.

Close enough to walk into town if need be and the staff are friendly and always approachable. If traveling in the Summer months they have a lovely pool and spa to utilize.

We really enjoyed staying here, we were greated warmly by name at reception and got into our room in super quick time. The room was spacious and immaculately clean with stunning views. The bed is queen size, so keep that in mind. Traffic noise from the road was noticeable, but was quiet at night - unavoidable if you want to be on the waterfront. We were proactively offered a late checkout which was appreciated. Highly recommended.

The Bounty is a Kiwi owned and operated property, located in a quiet suburb approx 100 meters back from the Paihia Beach, shops and restaurants. It is a 3 minute walk to the wharf for dolphin watching, fishing trips, sightseeing and ferry to Russell. Tours to 90 mile beach and Cape Reinga pick you up at the motel entrance.

Reviewed By harvarddriver2016This was the worst accommodation we have ever stayed in! Receptionist was friendly enough but our unit was so run down and not worth $215 for the night. We paid just a little more to stay at Sky City a couple of nights before. It was a 2 bedroom bit only had a small 2 seater couch which was badly placed to watch tv. Also only 3 seats at dining table for a place that sleeps 4 people. Unit had black mould in bedroom and bathroom. Ants running around in bathroom and kitchen. Feature wallpaper in master bedroom wasn't even centered. 2 seater was patched up. No aircon. Wasn't that clean with spider webs etc. Location was only thing going for it. Wouldn't stay again. No idea how it got to be 4 star! Maybe the newer rooms bring it up to that grading.

Green pool, leaking fridge, curdled milk, no towels - hostile management
Reviewed By 138carlywThe hospital put my mother up in this motel for a post-surgery stay. To care for her I paid and stayed with my two young children in the next room over. The pool was green and closed, yet no discount on the room was given despite not providing the amenities advertised. The rooms were clean, but very VERY run down. The kitchen floor and carpet in my mothers room was soaked from the fridge leaking, causing a slipping hazard. Management did not provide her towels despite me specifically asking if there were towels in her room at check in, so we could not clean this up ourselves. Management did mop immediately once made aware of the leak, but did not repair the fridge and still did not provide my mother any towels. The dining table chairs were broken in my room. The blades on the fan they provide broke off 2mins after being turned on rendering it useless. The beds were OK but the rooms are uncomfortably hot! We later found the milk pottles in my mothers fridge had curdled due to the fridge issues. Management shrugged their shoulders and told us a previous tenant must have muddled with the thermostat. We mentioned room checks being their responsibility (when we arrived our rooms were not locked, so presume the rooms had not been checked over after the cleaners left) and this is when management became hostile... said they would refund us and we could go somewhere else if we were not happy! We were not happy but at 7:30pm, 5 hours away from home with a post surgery check the next day, on waitangi weekend - unfortunately - we had no choice but to continue on with our subpar stay. We truly weren't expecting 5 star, wear and tear could have been overlooked for the price IF management weren't so dismissive of their failures to provide the basics and safety to their customers.

Reviewed By BellaG9711HQExcellent for a budget stay close to the waterfront area. Plenty of shops and restaurants very close. Some parts of the motel are older. Everything you need is there. As a group of two couples we took two studio rooms overlooking the road. There was a deck area with a large table and umbrella which was perfect for meals. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The room was lovely. Fair price very much worth of it. Spotless kitchen and space. Has everything in the kitchen area. Shower was great. We had the best nights in Casa Bella to rest for our sports. It feels super comfortable and warm. Definitely next time Casa Bella will our 1st choice.

The best place to stay in Whangarei, Cheviot Park Motor Lodge and Conference Center is situated in Whangarei, just 2 hour's drive from Auckland and less than 1 hour from the Bay of Islands. It is conveniently located on State Highway 1, only 1km from Whangarei city center, 650m from Whangarei Hospital and close to most sporting venues. All accommodation is on the ground floor with free secure parking outside the units. All of the Motel rooms are Air Conditioned and have MySky Guest Select 50+ with my sky enabled. We also have EV Chargers for Tesla and other Makes of Electric Vehicle.
Good customer service but dirty

My room was very dirty, there was hair on one towel, an eyelash on the soap so it hadn’t been cleaned, dust on top of the toilet holder and on every wall sill and crumbs in the kitchen. Our carpet was quite stained and felt damp. I didn’t feel at all clean. The customer service was lovely but it wasn’t worth $160 especially as the pool and hot tub was closed which wasn’t in the advertising. I do apologise I don’t leave bad reviews, maybe I just got a very old room but it was not an enjoyable stay ?
