Decent electricity situation and solar showers
Reviewed By MaliGhanaWe came back totally dirty from camping in Liuwa NP and learned that in other hotels we would not be able to take a shower before power is back. Liseli Lodge does not only run the gen set during day hours but also has solar showers so that warm water is always available. Our twin room was pretty small but had everything needed, including AC and a fridge. Beds were equipped with bed nets. While I do think that the room does not match the beauty of the lodge, there is nothing really to complain about. Others wrote about the bad road. It is currently being built and the dirt track next to the road construction should be accessible even by small cars. The lodge is beautiful with a large lawn and a play area for kids. The restaurant is large and has a nice atmosphere with a fire place and the food is excellent though at a higher price than you would expect In Mongu.

Conveniently located, helpful staff and excursion worth-doing
Reviewed By SoezoeRight in the town centre of Mongu this small gem provides a number of recently refurbished spacious rooms with A/C, DSTV, bathroom with hot shower and fridge. It is perfectly located for those strolling around town to catch the atmosphere of what Western Zambia is about. We enjoyed doing a trip organised by the manager to one of the two royal Lozi palaces in Limulunga, to Mongu Harbour and a ride through the stunning Barotse Floodplains to the second royal palace in his own vehicle - on a highly competitive charge. After having discovered the area around town (as there's not very much to do in Mongu itself) Yeta Motel provides some cold refreshing drinks and is a calm place to settle down. Unfortunately they do not provide any meals, so you better do your shopping at Shoprite or go to one of the few restaurants to get something fried or nshima.

Pleasant and affordable accommodation
Reviewed By nalucas2022enjoyed the privacy and hospitality at the lodge. the meals were well prepared and the menus were full of variety. I would recommend this lodge for families and solo visitors alike. the location of the lodge is well placed in the middle of the town which is a great plus

Disgusting, Roach Infested, Terrible Customer Service- Consider yourself warned!
Reviewed By TravelSafetyAdvisorZERO STAR LODGING! This place was disgusting and has TERRIBLE customer service and ownership. Rooms smelled like mold and cigarettes even though advertised as non smoking rooms. The receptionist I dealt with when I requested to change rooms had a huge attitude and gave me non-sensical answers about why I couldn't change rooms without paying for the room I had checked into. Was extremely rude speaking negatively about me in the local language to her colleagues and boss on the phone who I requested to speak with. She couldn't care less and even when my colleagues pointed out that customer service is important and everyone talks about accommodations in Mongu (since it's such a small town) and that if word got out that the Dolphin Lodge was poor no one would come, she agreed with him and said, "Yes that's true." The owner (based elsewhere at the time) was shameful in his response that since he wasn't on site, he couldn't do anything about my situation. Terrible! Cockroaches, mosquitoes, and ants were plentiful here and the whole place was disgusting. I didn't eat here and checked out the next day and found a much nicer lodge in Mongu. The bed was rock hard and everything was dirty, including the mini fridge in the room. I felt like I needed a decontamination chamber after being forced to stay at the Dolphin for one night, worst accommodation in recent memory! Save your money and your health and book elsewhere. You're welcome.

Reviewed By jonathanvergeerI did take a tour of the facilities and rooms despite not staying there. The rooms are large and apparently of high standard. Their pricing is excessive for the area but perhaps this is a deliberate policy. The landscaping around the rooms as well as bar and restuarant to exclusively service residents was still under construction at the time of my visit. The rooms are set a decent distance away from the public area so this should ensure privacy and quietness. It is also possible to park your vehicle by your room, thus ensuring greater security. The current restaurant and bar that is accessible to non residents is unsually and pleasantly constructed with numerous outside places to sit and relax whislt enjoying your meal. I beleive that it is a very popular destination for Mongu residents over the weekend so until the residents exclusive restuarant and bar ae completed, please be warned of potentially poor service. In addition, the current/public restuarant is within the bar; a ludicrous situation in my opinion. Furthermore, I struggled to obtain service despite being the only customer in the restaurant, as the lodge staff were too concerned with watching TV within the bar/restaurant area. This was compounded by the fact that all 3 TVs were playing different channels and were in competiton with each other volumewise. In summary, I think it has potential to be an excellent place to stay particularly for the business traveller but they must complete construction of the residents exclusive restuarant/bar and servcie standards first.
