Good hotel near night market and walking street

Reviewed By jajavalB

This hotel is in Paknam area near the riverbank and view from room on high floor provides panorama of Khao Kanab Nam mountain from farsight, there is area of local foods, Dimsum morning teahouse and restaurants, night market. It’s amazingly quiet at night and room makes me comfortable , although limited space but terrace and transparent window make room wider. Stay here with motorcycle makes my trip here is so impressive.

Perfect stay!

Reviewed By A9841UJthomase

We stayed in Krabi for 3 nights and loved every minute that we were in the Tara river, the host is brilliant, she was so welcoming and helped us with every request we had, from washing to excursions, taxis and transfers. She was super friendly and went above and beyond to help us, especially with helping me organise a little celebration for my girlfriends birthday which turned out to be the perfect day. We are currently spending 3 weeks out in Thailand travelling around and would highly recommend a stop at the Tara River hotel, not just for the very affordable pricing, but for brilliant service and rooms too. As a tip, we did upgrade our room after the first night as we had booked the cheaper option without air conditioning, but it wasn’t a big increase in pay and made the stay an even more comfortable one.

Apo Hotel

Good value & location, clean, friendly

Reviewed By Nina_Black

The rooms at Apo hotel are spacious and have air con, fridge, kettle (free coffee/tea), 2 bottles of water, hairdryer and a hot, powerful shower. The rooms are spread over 2 buildings with the reception being in the riverside location. Next door is a big fresh produce market with authentic food stalls. Airport minivans pass by the hotel. Breakfast can be taken in the main building (at extra cost, about THB100-150). A very good & authentic Italian restaurant is nearby („Uno“). The staff was super friendly. Just expect the rooms to be less „new“ than in their photos: everything shows signs of use. Very good value still for the location!

My paradise

Reviewed By Ulpunen

My all-time favourite! Whenever in need of soul sanctuary I come here. A pure paradise. And as usual, after a while, I extend. Now stayed 2 months already and most likely some more... And the reasons: amazing location right on one of the best beaches in Thailand, beautiful surroundings (especially night time with all the garden lights on), beautiful set of bamboo bungalows and a brand new building with fresh looks, extremely comfy and cozy rooms, nice pool, popular restaurant, excellent management, super nice staff.. and the peace of mind, so so quiet, away all the noise- all you hear are the waves, the birds, the cicadas...Highly recommended for short or long term stay!

We stayed at The Nice Hotel and the place great and clean. It is located in walking distance to the Night Street Walking and very closed to the airport. The staff at the hotel were very professional and helpful.

Ao Nang Bamboo Village

Uncomfortable

Reviewed By Hawkins1997

Disappointing, uncomfortable and unpleasant. The bamboo huts are unmaintained, basic and smell. The bed is terrible and the mosquito net is very difficult to put up and has lots of holes so practically pointless. The fan in the room was very noisy. Never able to relax outside in the evening because of the vast amount of mosquitos. The photos are very misleading as there is no up keep and the grass hasn’t been cut for months and months. Very uncomfortable sun beds and not to mention the location... miles away from the town resulting in having to rent a bike or spending a fortune on taxis. No atmosphere and couldn’t wait to leave. On the plus side, the swimming pool was relatively clean and warm.

Lovely resort with great reviews and friendly hosts

Reviewed By Leanne T

We unfortunately were only able to stay 1 out of our 3 nights booked due to our plans changing last minute but we loved this little resort. Our room had amazingly powerful air con, a lovely outside seating area from which we viewed monkeys walking around. The pool is great for cooling down and also in a perfect spot for watching the sunset. Walkable distance (less than 5 mins) to the beach where there are 3 or 4 bar/restaurants (our fav was Krits friendly bar) The owners of Chom Dao were also incredibly friendly. I would certainly return if in Koh Lanta.

Great value

Reviewed By 307cliver

Stopped for lunch after a couple of hours wandering around Krabi Town and the river path. The prices on the menu looked to be great value, we both chose the Tom Yum Shrimp ? with rice and a large Leo beer ?. We were the only people here even though it was 1.30pm. Waited a little longer than you would expect but boy was it worth it, the soup was fantastic, clearly freshly made with lots of shrimp ? and bursting with flavour. Try it….

This is not what I came to Thailand for

Reviewed By Peter H

As previously written, this hotel is in the middle of nowhere. It is about a fifteen minute drive to Ao Nang Beach, and 15 to Krabi town. It is by a fairly main road which has a lot of traffic noise, and in an unattractive location next to a petrol station. I asked to move rooms to one further from the road. The room itself was OK. Bed OK. Bathroom OK. TV all Thai channels. No restaurant on site but a short walk from a very good dim sum restaurant where I had an excellent breakfast for £3.00. It is pick your own dimsum from the fridge and they steam them on order. When compared with other hotels I stayed in in Thailand it was very poor value. IN Chiang Mai stayed for £5 more per night in a lovely quiet and spacious hotel. An Nang itself was a disappointment. Lots of neon lights and hundreds of restaurants and dozens of travel agencies. The only redeeming feature was that it felt nearly empty of tourists. Must be incredibly hard for anyone trying to run a tourist related business.
