The best available hotels & places to stay near Wasaga Beach

August 15, 2022 Sheron Bogner

Home to the longest freshwater beach in the world, Wasaga Beach is a summer tourist destination located just two hours north of Toronto. The white sandy beach stretches more than 14 kilometers (8.7 miles) on Nottawasaga Bay and welcomes more than 2 million visitors every summer. Because of its size, the beach is divided into six smaller beaches, so if you would like to steer clear of tourists and crowds who flock to Beach 1 and 2, make your way to Beaches 4 or 5 for a more private and quiet afternoon. Wasaga Beach is also home to many recreational trails and the Nottawasaga River is good for game fishing, canoeing and boating.

This is more than a motel - Better than 5 stars hotel

We tried to find a room during Victoria Day long weekend but everything was booked. After reading the reviews I called the owner and booked 4 nights and after that the experience got better and better. We arrived late, he was there waiting for us to give us the key of our room. Asked if we need anything else or if we need the room to be cleaned the following day. The room was very clean, I never stayed in a motel where the room condition and amenities are way better than 5 stars hotel. Kudos to you and your wife for such great work. The bathroom seems to be recently renovated and it looks very modern, on a small scale but modern. I was not expecting find shampoo but I did. Box of tissue was also in the room. Mini fridge also and working perfectly good. Microwave as well. During weekend he wanted to entertain his guests, he started fireworks and it was sooooo good and everyone was very pleased. His wife has a smile on her face and never annoyed or upset. God bless you two. Good job and all the best. Viviane Wans

Room was dirty We found empty bottles of water, someone’s hair brush and a baseball hat behind beds. Dirty fork behind the fridge. Floor was dirty in the bathroom, long black hair in a tub, and on towels. The only nice thing about this place was swimming pool.

Very Disappointed

Made reservations at the Villa Nova Motel in Wasaga Beach for September 26, 2021 and requested the nicest room they had facing the beach. When I arrived, they put me in a room facing the breezeway and other rooms which smelled old & moldy, not to mention in dire need of updating. This was off season so they had plenty of rooms to pick from. To add insult to injury, I quickly learned that they also rent room to low-income people as apartments. One of the occupant's living across the breezeway from me would come out of his room every half-hour to smoke weed and coughed his lungs out all night. Did I also mentioned that I could not get the TV to work? Not impressed! (See photos of what they consider their "Best Rooms".) Definitely not worth the $148.35 I was charged and would not recommend this Motel/Low Income Apartment.

Single handedly the worst motel I’ve ever been to. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. The beds do not get cleaned, the amount of sand in the beds was confusing, I’m not sure how the whole beach could end up in there. What’s even worse than that, is the company they host. With that being said, if you like sleeping in sand and getting yelled at by people with no teeth, have at it

Don't count on them to honour your booking!

Incredibly unprofessional and unreliable. Booked a room months in advance as I had to come to town for a wedding. less than two weeks before my trip, I receive a cancellation out of the blue. When I called in hopes it was a computer error and to let them know i still very much needed the reservation - I was given a variety of sketchy excuses as to why they cancelled - first, the room was "taken off line"; then something vague about "construction", then, as I was clearly not impressed, something about "a tree". No apologies, no concern at all offered for the difficult position they had now put me in - instead I was asked "well, what would you have me do?" Seriously???? best he could offer was that i should get back online and find someplace else. Of course everything now was booked and twice the price. Coincidentally (NOT!) - the next day they had availability for a two day stay. They clearly cancelled my one night reservation in order to gain a two night at a higher price. Exceptionally unprofessional, and rude in the process. Don't risk your trip with a provider who doesn't honour their commitments.
