Reviewed By ArndKaiser3 rates cheap/med/comfort from 30 to 95 Eu scrumptious Breakfast included - only one left 95 EU . Well-appointed room as if just fully renovated bathroom the size of some living rooms biggest shower head I ever saw - our room deserved 4 stars very pleasant host (owner) relinquished her p-spot for us since there is only street parking. Very comfy beds - no noise even though it was facing the street.

Reviewed By AttilaHoPros: Location is good, meals are perfect, rooms are comfortable, hosts are very friendly and helpful. It is a good place to stay. Cons: Wifi signal is not too strong, restaurant closes early, breakfast is not varied. But overall I strongly recommend it.

excellent hospitality and value for money
Reviewed By wimboxThe hotel is located in Kondrau, a village 2km away from bigger one called "Waldsassen". That's why the address is quoted "95652 Waldsassen / Kondrau". The hotel offers a restaurant and a breakfast buffet room. The hotel is rather small with about 12 rooms on 3 floors. Rooms have an economical interiour classified 3*, anyhow very spacious and nothing to complain about: a bathroom with toilet, shower and hairdryer, a big bed with TV at the beds end, a writing table and a very big sitting bench very good usable for your suitcase and luggage. My room was on highest floor with a shared wooden balcony in front of the window and a nice view on the hotel courtyard and garden. So while the room mostly was "nothing to complain about and very good value for money" the hospitality was overwhelming the next morning at the breakfast buffet: to cut it short my last 4* hotel had less to offer at the breakfast buffet and surely way higher price. The owners wife Mrs. Birner was helpful, very kind and efficient. The hotel has a great value and the staffs service attitude justifies a top rating for "Kondrauer Hof". Only downside was that we arrived too late (after 10pm) due to some highway traffic jam, so that their restaurant was already closed and no typical Bavarian meal for us anymore... :-( But this is rather normal in the rural area and the owner explained me the next morning that last restaurant guests leave sometimes already before 9pm on weekdays and therefore after 10pm they surely will be closed. (same staff needs to prepare the breakfast next morning starting at 6am something !) Conclusion: I would definitively come here again, but next time better before 9pm ;-)

A Habit to Cherish
Reviewed By PMRKMWe had the immense pleasure of the hospitality of the Cistersian Sisters of the, Haus St. Joseph in the Kloster Waldsassen. We stayed 4 days and felt so at home that we did not want to leave. Everything that was advertised was delivered and more. The breakfast was all inclusive, cereal, dried and fresh fruit as well as apples and bananas to go. Yogurt, plain and fruit flavored. Cheese and deli meat of all sorts. Home made jam and fresh rolls both whole wheat and light. Plenty of everything. Coffee, tea of all sorts and Fresh OJ. We thought we might want to eat out side of the convent but when we ate our first dinner there we enjoyed the food and service and ambiance so much we looked forward to the chef's special every night. The cuisine was wonderful and plentiful. Especially the mushroom soup, which was a favorite. All of this was made even more special by the service of Nadine, Melanie and Jurgen the all around wait staff, who made sure we were supremely comfortable and satisfied. Our room was clean and the beds very comfortable. Make sure to visit the world renowned library, stunning and filled with history. There are many little shops and great walking opportunities around the area and the porcelain road is a short distance away. Internet is included in the room rate as is breakfast. Parking also included. Wifi in the lobby and wired DSL in your room. We will surely be back. A five star experience in every way.
