We stayed here as the hotels in Valkenburg were fully booked because of the Christmas markets, so glad they were, we found a gem! Railway station only a two minute walk, with four trains per hour. Panorama room very spacious with good views and very comfortable. Breakfast was good and varied. Attention to detail and cleanliness throughout were well noted. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great hospitality, friendly service, lovely garden
Reviewed By 57356388We had a great time in the hotel. In the first place because the family that runs the hotel has a great feeling for hospitality. They took good care of my diet. The second attraction was the garden; a lovely place for a drink and for dinner (we had sunny weather). The bed is comfortable, and the rooms very quiet (no sound from inside the hotelk, nor from outside). The rooms are not fancy, but offer sufficient space to place luggage and to sit on the chairs. The bathroom does not look fancy either, but has everything you need and the shower is more than warm enough. All in all a great experience for an excellent performance/price ratio. The only minus-point was that the wifi was slow in our room; in the saloon and the lobby it was OK.

Reviewed By george492019After a long walk from Valkenbourg we found this quiet terrace with a superb view and with very nice staff. Food was very good and the beer on the tap very fresh . We are sorry we didn't book this hotel for our holiday.

A good bed, a tasty breakfast, and service made to measure: that is what you can expect from us. Enjoy the rich burgundian life in Limburg… at walking distance from sanctuaries and the most wonderful cycling and walking trails right in front of our door. Nature’s beauty, vistas, peace and contemplation – everything within reach as are towns such as Valkenburg, Maastricht, Limburg Park City and nearby Aachen. There are four guest rooms. The rooms have all been recently refurbished, have underfloor heating and accommodate two persons. Our B&B has an elevator. Room size: 20 m² Bathroom facilities: shower, toilet, washbasin, bathrobes. Room facilities: ground floor, no smoking, television, seating area, central heating, internet, refrigerator. Every room is fitted with: – A fully equipped bathroom (a spacious shower stall with rain shower head, toilet, wash basin) and hair dryer. Soap, shampoo and body lotion (free). – Towels and bathrobes. An extra pillow and/or duvet. – A new bed that can be made up according to your wishes as a single, double or twin – A widescreen television – A Nespresso machine and kettle, plus a daily selection of Nespresso cups and tea bags – A bottle of red wine and a fridge with soda, beer (additional charge). Mineral water is free of charge – A safe with internal sockets so that you can charge your telephone or tablet. – Seating area/ work space

Reviewed By Bokito1958This small B&B (or better: small hotel) with 4 rooms was recommended to us by a girlfriend. It’s a hidden gem in the most beautifull part of The Netherlands. Although the outside isn’t spectacular, the inside is: it is run by 2 exceptional hosts, Toine & Frank, who make you feel at home from the very first time. If you could find a disadvantage (we couldn’t), they make you forget immediately. The exceptional assets: the rainshower, the gorgeous bed and the room is spotlessly clean. And not to mention the idyllic terrace on the riverside.

Reviewed By Joost HSchin op Geul is a small town. It is located in, probably, one of the most picturesque parts of the hilly southern Netherlands, more accurately in South Limburg... Incidentally, this is the same part of the Netherlands which at nearby Margraten is home to the country's sole American WWII cemetery. Hundreds of mostly young Americans, back in September 1944, liberated the region from Nazi occupation, hundreds paying the ultimate price. The cemetery is beautifully maintained. Cruising this countryside can be a genuine pleasure... Small towns, hamlets, churches, country roads, crucifixes or small chapels at some old road intersections, they all remind the visitor that this used to be solidly Catholic country. I said, used to be, because a younger Dutch generation, upon closer acquaintance, appears just as non-religious, egotistically consumer-oriented, history-empty, culturally confused as in all parts of the so-called advanced industrial world... But, leaving personal biases behind, back to the subject at hand. While cruising down above roads, my two female companions, an older sister and cousin had developed a bit of an appetite. Suddenly, a curve in the road displayed this side-walk fronted inn, informing the passing traveler with the help of hand-written blackboard signs of a range of à la carte options... Some of the items looked promising. Why not give it a try? The place turned out quite busy. I'm guessing here, most of the guests appeared locals. The familiar greetings by guests and service staff suggested the same. Yet another incidental, good advice anytime, but especially when traveling abroad, try to find out where the locals go when eating out! Onto our personal experience, my sister and cousin ordered the 3-course menu: soup, salad, a chicken breast main dish, fries, and a dessert to top it off. I asked for the posted fish and chips. Bread and butter reached the table first. We also began with two beers and in the course of the dinner ordered a softdrink and 3 bottled water. The Dutch, other than Americans and most other Europeans, are not yet in the habit of serving plain tap water... Of course, it's all about the money. However, I wouldn't want to be unfair. Most important, compliments to the chef... The food turned out excellent. Whoever runs the kitchen must know his business. The portions were generous and all attractive plate service. The dessert option the ladies wished for turned out a generous ice-cream, whipped cream fantasy. Nothing to complain about. Personally, the most pleasant surprise came when asking for the check. It all came out to 52.25 euros... Believe me, to feed 3 adults in Holland, in pleasant surroundings, such is value for the money. Very reasonable indeed by Dutch and European standards... Last words: the service level was pleasant, too. Young attractive girls, probably part-timers (who knows, students?), were generally quick around when flagged for one or the other additional request. Yes, this eatery, which presents itself in local regional fashion as a "Burgundian brasserie" - a familiar local reference and also a bit of a take-off on such more modest eateries in next-door Belgium and nearby France - is well worth a visit... Tell them, Joost from Las Vegas, in fact, a native of the Netherlands, sent you... Who knows, it may get me a free beer next time I visit...

Reviewed By Gejah RWe booked a cabin for 5 adults and 2 dogs. The house is reasonable new. Everything you need is in it, ok there is only a small combi microwave. I would have prefered a real oven. The main bedroom is very small. You can hardly walk around it. The bed is ok. The other beds are small and for the long dutch people too short. For kids ok, but not for big adults. There is something we did not like so much, the cabin is heating up very fast when the sun is shining. It was 24 degrees in the house. There is a dishwasher and coffeemakers. The kitchen equipment is good. For the park, it is nice situated in the surrounding. The only negative point is, when you have dogs, there are no garbage bins in the area where you can walk the dogs.

Reviewed By NLcycleWe stayed here for a night, and were welcomed warmly by the owner/hostess. Friendly people, with a nice area for dinner, drink and breakfast. The building itself is an old historic building, so do not expect a 5 star modern hotel. The rooms, bed and furniture are a bit old, and not so attractive. If you stay here for a night, for example when doing a bicycle tour, it is perfect.
