Great place
Reviewed By Arlene SFrom the moment we arrived we felt that we had chosen well. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and were given a complimentary beverage and some chocolate. The room was perfect for our needs with a balcony. Breakfast had anything we wanted and more.

In the city of Rheinfelden near shops, train station, Rhine River and just a 5 minutes walk to the border to Switzerland. By car or train you are in about 20 minutes in Basel. 75 rooms, all with bathroom, free Highspeed Wi-Fi internet and satellite TV. Comfortable rooms, many completely newly furnished with box spring beds and air conditioning. In the morning you start with a delicious breakfast buffet with cereals and fresh bread rolls. More extras: 24-hour reception, lift, underground parking, conference rooms, space for bicycles, laundry service and bus parking.
Unable to stay due to Covid but excellent customer service,
Reviewed By Claudia BWe originally booked the hotel through hotels.com to stay in March and although travel restrictions were starting to be put into place due to Covid hotels.com wouldn’t let us change the booking. I contacted the hotel directly and couldn’t fault them, they moved our booking (although they didn’t have to) at no extra charge. I was so impressed with how quickly they responded and the fantastic customer service I received. I moved the booking to the end of July but unfortunately due to having to shield I am unable to travel even though general restrictions have been lifted. I emailed Hotel Danner to ask to cancel my booking. They replied within a few minutes and cancelled the booking for me at no charge. Thank you so much for the quick replies and excellent customer service and for going above and beyond what you had to. I will definitely book with them as soon as it’s safe for me to travel. I highly recommend the hotel for its customer service, a lot of companies would have just taken our money. Thank you Hotel Danner for your understanding, we will definitely be staying with you in the future.

Reviewed By cazzyc10Travelled to Rheinfelden on a Sunday in preparation for a Monday mid morning meeting on the outskirts of town. Had a bit of an issue finding the entrance of the hotel - walked round in a huge loop only to find we had just turned the wrong way down a road! Signage could have been a little better! We arrived about 7pm and although we were told there would not be any one in reception - there was a very helpful lady who sorted out our rooms very efficiently. Large room with a balcony. Big bathroom - very clean and tidy. Plenty of wardrobe space and hanging for coats etc. Plenty of pillows, bed comfortable and a workspace if you needed it. We did not have breakfast in the hotel due to time constraints.

Chose it for it's location - it was just a three minute walk from our friends' residence besides being the only hotel in Herten. Situated in an industrial zone but very close to the town of Herten. The rooms are adequate and clean. Though there is no air-conditioner there is a small table fan. The breakfast is pretty good. There are two restaurants around there - but have never tried them as we are visiting friends. Opt for even numbered rooms on the first floor as on the other side there is a kitchen on the ground floor and there is always a smell of frying.

They never change the towel, I’m sure because I use to mark the towel. even if you throw it on the ground, the day after you’ll find it folded on the radiator. I tried also to throw it on the shower plate but they did the same, even if visibly dirt. I tried to explain to the reception but nothing is changed. There is a strange loundry service because they collect your clothes also if you don’t want your stuff be washed. Same story, explained to the reception but the day after happened again. The breakfast has no big variety. The restaurant is fine.

Reviewed By David C CThis is a knights of the templar heritage site with an idealistic setting by the slow flowing Rhein. You can sit in the courtyard and reflect back on 400 years of history. I stayed in the Geasthause which is both scholastic in set up but still modern and comfortable.

Very clean and a nice pool
Reviewed By Nathalie VWe stayed one night on the road back from Italy. Hotel is very clean and the pool is open from 16:00-21:00 which is lovely when you had a long drive. Free towels are provided at the beautiful pool and sauna area. The room is nice with a good bed and free facilities such as free wifi, coffee/thee, water and flatscreen tv. Bathroom is a bit outdated but clean and has a lovely shower. We had a shared balcony with our neighbours but didnt use it. When walking in the hallway you can hear pretty much every conversation in the rooms but when you are in your own room you cant hear anything which is good. If you are traveling with a baby do note that babybeds and babyseats are not available (also not at breakfast). Breakfastarea is typically german and small but there is plenty of choice and eggs are made upon request. The guy who checked us in also arranged breakfast. He is a friendly and quiet young man who will see to your needs. We paid 110 euro's for one night which in my opinion is a bit expensive but competitive compared to surrounding hotels at the swiss/german/french border. Free parking in front of the pension in this quiet area. I would recommend this hotel mostly for people traveling without an infant unless you take your own baby cot.
