Reviewed By NZsimondBooked in as part of our trip through the Lewis Pass from Blenheim. Character building and what I expect at the front may have been an old 'hotel' back in the day. Nobody was at reception when we arrived (mid afternoon on a Wednesday), but the phone at reception was quickly answered and a couple of minutes later we were greeted and checked in to our room out the back on the gound level. Could not fault anything here really (although a wall/bedside light in the master bedroom for readers would have been welcomed). The unit itself was a good size, had a carpark outside, double glazing (warm and reduced any road noise I expect), a confortable bed and a couple of radiator heaters which were quick to warm the unit up on a cooler and rainy night. The place was tidy and everything form milk in the fridge to salt and pepper made for a pleasant stay.

It has luxury king single, and queen beds, large comfortable lounges, Sky TV, internet access and full kitchen and laundry facilities. The guesthouse is set in beautiful gardens and offers off street parking. Great value accommodation for singles, couples or groups.

Reviewed By 370paulakHave stayed here twice now and very happy with my stays. Good beds, well equiped kitchen and nice lounge. Have found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Location is fine, a short walk from town and food outlets. Good parking spot for cars and motorcycles. Showers and bathrooms are clean and there’s plenty of hot water.

Built in 1887, this former Barrister and Solicitor's office has been carefully renovated in 2015 to add light and space without losing its old-world charm to become the Finest Accommodation available in Reefton. (Qualmark 4 1/2 star) Elegantly decorated, the house features charming character rooms all with ensuites (special feature vault ensuite) and central heating. Full kitchen and laundry facilities. Shared lounge with 40 inch LCD TV and ample seating. Private patio, decking and guests' garden.

Reviewed By Kiwiana13Wow! Such a quaint and comfortable place to stay. We had the Rose room, which was cosy on a cold winter evening. The ensuite bathroom was modern and everything was very clean- spotless. Although the room was at the front of the building, the road was quiet with little traffic. Breakfast at the cafe next door was really delicious. Great value and a lovely place to stay!

Filthy
Reviewed By ps3765We stayed at the villa right next to the restaurant and I would not recommend it to anyone. It was filthy. Ironically the toilet, sinks and basins were clean as were the tea towels but everything else was disgusting. The doors and cupboards were covered in stains and filth, the kitchen cupboards were sticky and full of spider webs, dead flies and smelt. We had to wash any crockery up that we wanted to use and there was only one pan with a handle. There was a broken window in the lounge with a large hole in it (luckily it was hot so it didn't matter for warmth). The wifi didn't work, nor the TV. After a slightly stressful holiday all up this was our last stop and I didn't have the energy to complain to the owner so I can't comment on what the response would have been however when a property is so engrained with dirt (all the windows, woodwork, sills and carpets etc) I don't think a lot could have been achieved whilst we were staying there.

Reviewed By the2kiwisthis is a hidden gem. The bed was very comfortable, the whole place was clean, the owner lovely. A huge living/lounge area with an expansive library, it would be a great place to stay for a while and do hiking, biking and curl up in front of the fire on a cold day
