hotel of too many dogs

Others did the same so the results is far too many dogowners (including us) each with their style of dog-caring (including ours). Strangely there are sections in the hotel where dogs are not allowed and we had to follow the rather strict German way of dog-caring. They put us into a separate room with other dogs - not so much fun. Some of the dog special amenities didnt work winter times when we were there. I felt maybe another hotel which is "just" dog friendly is better option. Besides it is decent hotel, not too pricey ... just like so many others in the Austrian Alps. Food is good, but not great.

Reviewed By MagdaleneWaiWe went for a day trip to Ramsau. We went to the church and came across the hotel. No regrets of eating at the restaurant. The food was really good. I really enjoyed the spicy goulash. The schnitzel was also very tasty. Good service too.

Amazing potatoes!
Reviewed By meinirannI came in here for a spot of dinner last week. The restaurant is gorgeous, in a traditional style. The staff were very friendly. They only have a German menu, so if you do decide to eat here, make sure you have a phrasebook and/or a dictionary or something in order to translate if you don’t speak German. I decided upon the wienerschnitzel, a favourite of mine, and it didn’t disappoint. It was delicious. The potatoes in particular were superb! I think they were covered in butter and petersilie, although I can’t be sure. Whatever it was, the potatoes were amazing! I also had glühwein to warm me up after coming in from the cold on a snowy December day.

Just perfect for a family stay!
Reviewed By Jasper DA very nice hotel with a personal touch by the family. The diner is fine especially in combination with the wines. Also the breakfast buffet is healthy and local at the same time, plenty choice for fruit and yoghurt. The rooms are clean and comfortable, also plenty off room to relax in the room.

Das Selbstversorger Apartment mit 2 Raeumen war perfekt eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Der Hof liegt auf einem Hochplateau weit weg von jeder Strasse - super ruhig - wunderschöne Aussicht. Die Hof Besitzer Silke und Richie kuemmern sich um alles - insbesondere Reiter koennen bei Richie Reitstunden buchen! Die Ramsau bot neben vielen tollen Wanderungen (Empfehlung Wilde Wasser) fuer unsere Kids Action pur wie zB Rafting, Canyoning (via BAC) aber auch Mountain-Cokart am Hochwurzen und der Badesee am Rittisberg

Great place to stay
Reviewed By Riav946We stayed @ Annelies for 4 nights in July 2020 in a junior suite. What we liked very much: The suite was very spacious and comfortable with a very nice view. The balcony is huge. Wellness and infinity pool are great ! Food is of very good quality. Good value for money. Last but not least the owner and staff are extremely friendly :o). A great place to stay and enjoy hiking (straight from the hotel). What could be better: The bathroom of the junior suite is very small. Unfortunately quite some traffic is passing during the day. Though fortunately during the night/evening no traffic at all which keeps you awake. This does not keep us from returning to this hotel.

Hard to fault
Reviewed By Guy987654Stayed for a week in mid March and can't fault anything really. Stayed in a Ramsau (south facing) room on third (top) floor and were very happy with it. Balcony caught the spring sun which was nice. Room was nice and clean with all we needed. Hot water to shower was consistent with no trouble. Wi-fi was also fine, with one small exception when signal cut out one evening - seemed to get sorted - perhaps just needed a reboot. The food was good with a buffet dinner on Saturdays and a small dinner menu to choose from on the other days - always with one vegetarian option if that's your thing. Breakfast was a large buffet with lot's of choice, also served was afternoon tea and cakes - this also included a savoury snack, sometimes hot. This meant the 3/4 board option could pretty much fulfil all your meal requirements. Nice restaurant area with fixed table places and a sunny terrace for afternoon tea. Pool/fitness/sauna area was a bonus, with full size pool for lane swimming and smaller play pools. Note - the sauna is 'the real deal', mixed and naked - could be worth researching etiquette if your home country is different. Walking in in your bathers raises a few eyebrows! The staff were all great. Reception answered lot's of queries for us on various winter activities and provided our langlauf passes/winter cards. We took a snowshoe week deal in March which provided great value, including all the meals mentioned, 3 days guided snowshoeing with equipment and a full body massage! We also did cross country skiing, with intersport over the road providing simple cheap equipment hire (pre-book online). The Dachstein glacier is well worth a day trip and be sure to rent a rodel to sledge back down from the cable car to hotel Matschner! Bus to Schladming for a days Alpine skiing/boarding as also very straight forwards. The weather was spring like in March and was worried the snow might be melting by then. I needn't have worried. Even in the warm weather the trail maintenance kept things in good condition - with the bonus of al fresco eating and drinking. Highly recommended.

Nice mid-range place
Reviewed By Michal JNice, comfortable and clean rooms, cleaned daily. Ample parking. Half-board with great variety at dinner and great selection at breakfast, there was always something for everyone. Indoor swimming is nice and clean - it's 17 meters long so you can actually swim in it, there's also a sauna and a sun bed for a bit of extra cost. And they have a partner beauty parlour right there as well. Ski room available. Friendly staff but even in high winter season the front desk was staffed only in the afternoon, not in the morning. The local bus stop is just a minute on foot, the bus takes you to all the ski resorts in Ramsau and/or down to Schladming area. If you are a cross-country skiing person, the well maintained tracks with lots and lots of miles are just 100 metres away and you get a discount when buying the local cross-country skiing pass when using your hotel guest card.

The swimming pool, sauna & steam room were much appreciated after a long day's hiking. Can't beat the location. Can't beat their prices, either. Loved it. Highly recommended.
