Reviewed By moncheri911This is my favorite Sandman of the 3 in the Toronto area as we make our way north each summer. This hotel is clean, the front desk staff is focused on service, and the rooms are well kept and not “beat up”. The bed was comfy, the king suite was welcoming, the kitchenette wasn’t sticky, and we just love Sandman’s set up of having a decent steakhouse and bar attached where guests can check-in, drop off their luggage, and go back downstairs for a relaxing glass of wine and meal which is upscale and not “typical hotel food.” The front desk staff is kind, polite, and truly listens to guests. When I mentioned we had to book last minute and were exhausted from doing repairs on our cabin and only could nab a queen bed, she gently offered a quiet room with a king—Oh, I wanted to hug her! Another shout out was the bartender in Chop—he, too, was attentive, knowledgeable about wine, and was quite focused in making sure guests had a relaxing experience.. We are so grateful to Sandman (and Chop) which employs such fine people who care about the customer experience! We will be back the next time we are passing through!

As we all know we always hear of negativity and very seldom the positivity. The would like to advise I've been staying at the Oakville site for the last month and from day 1 I've been treated with respect and with the upmost courtesy from Mr. Brendan Jayawardene and his amazing team. But I'd like to highlight a few members as they have went above and beyond. Sanjeev, due to covid there is no access to a shared computer for quests. Sanjeev printed and scanned very important documents to my personal email many times which I greatly appreciate. Nya, just a very upbeat and friendly face behind the front desk. If you are having a bad day and you happen to see Nya, she will turn your frown upside down. Albert, the maintenance worker, my first day my TV was not working as it should. Within 15 min I had Albert in the room replacing the TV and I thought PIZZA PIZZA had a great slogan "30 Minutes or Free" Kathy, Lynn, Robin, Lulu and Nadine the house keeper's. Everyday either of these fabulous women are asking is there anything I need from fresh towels to replenish coffee or tea or cleaning the room. If in Oakville and in need for a room or rooms go see Brendan and his amazing team.

Double Charged then Lied to
Reviewed By John SI checked in Monday April 4, front desk person seemed unable to do a simple task, charge the room to my debit card and charge the deposit to my credit card. I gave him both. Tuesday morning I noticed that both my debit and credit cards were charged $205.18 I immediately called the desk and got the manager who said, the debit card charge had been reversed and I should see the funds in 24 to 48 hours. It’s now at least 80 hours and still out of pocket. Complained to IHG called my Bank and reported Fraud. Still nothing Be very aware of this hotel!!!!! ???

Not like other locations. Disappointing
Reviewed By MidnitestorkWe stayed at this hotel for two nights over the Easter weekend. Compared to the Staybridge in St Jacobs we stayed at in February, we found it very disappointing. Front desk staff is not very knowledgeable. We were staying two nights, splitting with our daughter in law, and wanted two receipts to use for the Staycation tax credit in Ontario. The desk clerk had no idea what we were talking about, even though it is front and centre on the website. Eventually we figured it out, but then she charged us two different rates...a $50 difference. So confusing. My daughter in law needs to follow up with her CC company. I found the cleanliness of the hotel lacking. Hallways had not been vacuumed in a while. I realize the rooms are pet friendly but having said that, more care needs to go into cleaning. My grandsons were playing on the floor and got covered in dog hair. Daughter in law had her allergies act up, certainly for the same reason , Better vacuuming of the room is needed. Paying more attention to cobwebs helps too. The beds were clean and comfortable. The room needs some updating. Maintenance had to fix one of our bar chairs as the seat was coming right off. Ice maker in fridge did not work. The couch and chairs had seen better days. There was no bathmat for the shower, which to me is a safety issue. My grandson slipped and I was quite nervous in the slippery tub. Minimal towels in the rooms. One towel each. And I had to put one of the hand towels in the tub to act as a bath mat. No liquid dish soap, so we had to run the dishwasher for a few coffee cups. The pool was passable but a bit murky. Lots of hair in the water which makes me question the cleaning/vacuuming schedule. Water was cooler than I expected as was the ambient temperature in the room. No towels in the pool enclosure. The front desk will get them, but she gives you tiny hand towels only. No receptacle to put the used towels in at poolside. Breakfast was good but for busy weekend mornings, more tables would be appreciated. There are many options for the Staybridge resorts in Ontario so we will utilize those first when doing a weekend away.

Clean but older property
Reviewed By 31HomeGamesI would rate this property just OK. It was clean and maintained but it’s obviously an older property and everything just felt dated and a little worn. This does seem to be reflected in the price however as this was the least expensive Marriott property in the area. Breakfast procedures in mid-March were cumbersome. Breakfast area was blocked off and you had to line up for an employee to get items for you. The line was always long and so we ended up having to skip breakfast both days.

Reviewed By vulpeculaOur family (2 adults, 2 kids under 10) recently stayed at this hotel for one night (a Friday). Overall we enjoyed our stay and I would stay here again next time we are in town. The good: staff were friendly, check-in and out were easy, the room was clean, the pool was a good temperature and not too busy, good location, free parking. Our beds were comfortable. The not-as-good: the hotel was noisy in the evening, which made it hard for our kids to fall asleep. We had to run the heating/cooling fan all night for noise cancelling and most of us woke up with a runny nose due to dryness. It would have been nice to be able to open a window. Breakfast wasn't included so we paid for it - it was okay - it was very busy and staff worked hard to keep it stocked but overall it was just okay. The bathroom didn't have a fan, which not only helps after a shower, but also with mitigating bathroom smells and noises. The bad: nothing! We really did enjoy our stay and we would stay here again.

great budget stay
Reviewed By M3634RZadamdspent a week here in may and was pleasantly surprised. the room was spacious, the bed was excellent, the staff were lovely, and the location was really convenient. the only downside was the breakfast which was awful. best to avoid. however there was a Tim Hortons right next door which made it less of an issue.
