Spectacular jungle lodge
Reviewed By stork90We've stayed in very rustic accommodations in jungle lodges in Peru, and this felt like luxury! Yes, there is mosquito netting over the bed (but then you slept very comfortably knowing you were safe from the little biters), and only cold water showers, but they were so refreshing after hiking or swimming, and only shocking on the morning we had to leave. We stayed in the separate cabin and loved all the space. Every evening, staff came by and let down the wall tarps in case it rained in the night, and the mosquito netting was set up for us, well before sundown. In the morning, the rain tarps were rolled back up, and our room was freshened while we were out on excursions. We totally agree with a previous poster who said the Aruscicito hike/canoe trip was the best. We saw the most wildlife/birds on this one compared to any other outing. I was very happily surprised at the lack of mosquitos! I'm usually a magnet for them, and I even stopped wearing repellent to dinner and never got bitten. (WARNING - I was eaten up in the Nuqui "airport" while waiting for our plane back to Medellin.) All of the staff were reserved, but friendly and helpful. The food is amazingly good for the location, and room rates include 3 meals a day. Alejandro is an excellent host. He was fascinating to visit with, speaks English very well, and was always checking in with us concerning activities or seeing if we needed anything. He even gave us some money back after we settled our bill, because our boat back to Nuqui was shared with several other guests, rather than just the two of us. No hesitation at all to recommend Punta Brava as a fantastic and comfortable place to experience the Pacific coast and jungle of Colombia. BTW, we are 60 and 61 y/o.

A great host and a nice Hostel
Reviewed By PietertjMy mate and I arrived totally broke without any Cash in Nuqui. The owner of this hostel helped us out straight away. Because there are no cash machines in Nuqui it was quite hard to obtain money. Thank you very much for saving our holiday at the Pacific. Your kindness and nice hostel was a highlight.

Reviewed By Raymond LHighly recommended! Diego and Damaris took care of us for four days. We really enjoyed every minute of it. The rooms are basic, but very clean and comfortable with a nice view. The seafood is excellent, fresh and very tasteful. The hotel is located next to lonely and beautiful beaches and Diego and Damaris do everything to make you feel comfortable. Highlight of the trip were the whales, but there are a few very nice (short) hikes one can do as well.

El Hotel Acuali Nuqui, es una construcción de de tres niveles, que combina arquitectura moderna con finos detalles en madera y materiales de la región; en la parte exterior del primer piso funcionan 4 locales comerciales que prestan los servicios de: Agencia de viajes SELVAZUL, cafetería, tienda artesanal y restaurante. Al interior del primer piso esta la recepción y una agradable sala de televisión, además de 2 habitaciones, una zona verde y sala Wifi. En el segundo piso están ubicadas 11 habitaciones, 6 de ellas con balcón y todas cuentan con aire acondicionado, televisor plasma y baño privado. El tercer piso es un salón de eventos con capacidad para 200 personas. La ubicación del hotel a solo 25 pasos de la salida del aeropuerto, hace que este sea una de las mejores opciones en el municipio de Nuqui.

Acuali is located in a central location, near the airport, the boat center and the city center. It is a very special hotel because its decoration is simply unique. It shows you all the beauty of the Colombian Pacific since you enter. The rooms are very comfortable, with air conditioning, Wi-Fi Zone and TV. There is also a beautiful shopping store where you can find all kinds of fashion accessories, colors, clothes and bags from a local designer named Lilo. I highly recommend this hotel, not only for the facilities but for the people

Esta ubicado en medio del pueblo, hay mucho ambiente y la família amfitriona és alegre y encantadora! Tiene servicio de bar y comida todo el día, y la comida esta rica! Viajabamos con un perro y no tuvimos ningun problema.

A beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature
Reviewed By Popko WI stayed in El Amargal to relax and to bird watch. The hosts were super friendly and helpful, and offered several options for activities. We did a birding trip combined with a canoe trip on the local river. Very, very beautiful. As a bird watcher, I was also quite impressed. The area is not as well known as several other in this region, and I think there is still plenty to discover. To discover the woods behind the resort, you do need a guide, or stay at a decent distance to the house. I also saw nice species staying on the resort area itself. The accommodation was comfortable, but rustic; don't expect a city hotel. Beds are comfortable. The (bed)room is quite small, but limited storage space, but being here, you won't spend much time inside! Outside is plenty of space to hang about and there are plenty of hammocks around. The food in El Amargal was really good! (fresh fruit juices, fresh fish, arroz con coco, etc.). Apart from the 'regular' thing, Nicole is putting a lot of effort in a creative menu, which is great. And there's good coffee as well. Drinks (beers) and cocktails can be obtained. Note however that you may have to inform the hosts in time, because there's no supermarket next door. The place is quite isolated from the village and a distance from Nuqui: but this is also the attraction of El Amargal. You're really away from everything. That said: there was internet available, although not 24/7 (which I thought was great). All in all, an unforgettable experience!

Une posada simple mais très bien tenue dans un village isolé du monde
Reviewed By Bobbydu77Une bonne adresse dans le village de thermales que l'on rejoint uniquement par bateau depuis Nuqui (1h15, 35000 pesos. l'embarcadère est à 200 mètres de l'aéroport, réserver en amont via la posada). L'endroit est chaleureux, Nena et Lincer sont adorables et très serviables. La cuisine y est excellente et le confort du lit est bon. C'est l'ambiance locale dans la simplicité. Deux douches sont à l'extérieur des chambres. Le wifi comme l'électricité fonctionnent de 14h30 à 22h30. La plage est à seulement quelques mètres. Prévoir des liquidités car absolument rien sur place en CB. La plage, la piscine thermale, les fameuses baleines et des randonnées seront vos occupations. Mer superbe, coin isolé du monde en tout cas en juillet 2020. Le mois d'août serait le plus fréquenté mais ce ne sera jamais le rush ici. En bref, un bon souvenir et une vraie déconnexion bien nécessaire.
