Reviewed By miriam kStayed in Waterfront lodge for about a month during my deployment in Tonga after the vulcano eruption and tsunami and it turned out to be my home away from home. There is a few beautiful decorated rooms ,some with seaview, and we were living as a little family with Liz and her staf taking extremely good care of us. During and after lockdown we enjoyed the best hospitality, very clean rooms, laundry service, a hearty breakfast, and eating the best food in Tonga for dinner on the veranda. Liz always going the extra mile , making sure there was something organised for us to enjoy the beauty of Tonga next to work . Totally recommended !

A well-kept tidy 6-bedroom family home turned into a B&B Lodge. Situated on the main street from the international airport (25 minutes from the airport)towards the main capital of Nukualofa (7 minutes drive away). The main public Hospital is 5 minutes away from the Lodge and is popular with medical students from overseas. The lodge offers free wifi, common kitchen for guests cooking, two lounges, 3 balconies and each room has a ceiling fan.3 shared showers with hot water available. Laundry and ironing service is available. Rates include complimentary continental breakfast. Swim beaches, golf course, national cultural centres, cafes, restaurants are only 10-15 minutes away. Special whalewatch and island trips at competitive prices can be arranged. Free TV,phone line, parking and rental car service is available.Mini supermarket is handy next door.Lodge is ideal for professionals, consultants and teachers visiting Tonga. Our boutique hotel offers 7 rooms, each overlooking the neighbourhood of Mailetaha, which is centrally located between Fanga and Tonga's CBD (Kolofo'ou). House of Tonga is perfect for the practical traveller, as our location is within walking distance to ATMs, car rental, fresh daily farmer's market, restaurants, bars & nightlife, cafes, and a small supermarket! Each morning we serve a delicious farmer's fresh tropical fruits breakfast while you stay with us. Reviewed By John and Tuaine BThis boutique hotel is centrally located with easy access to services and amenities. Across the road is Lord's Hire Car and nearby there are small supermarkets. There are many road-side fruit stalls close by. Rooms are spacious and kept cleaned to a very high standard with daily servicing. Beds are comfortable and the shower is refreshing. Staff are extremely polite, approachable and always ready to help. Free wifi and breakfast are a bonus and there is off-street parking. If you want to stay away from a large resort then this is the ideal place and we would recommend it.

Daily room service ensured the room was always clean and stocked up with fresh towels etc. Laundry service is also available - we felt like we were on a real holiday with that! Great location along the waterfront. Close to town centre - you could easily walk in. Rooms have everything you need to ensure a wonderful stay. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Filipe and team, we are very grateful for your kindness and hospitality during our time in the Kingdom.

Just 2 minutes’ walk from the waterfront and the American Wharf, 5 minutes’ walk from the Faonelua Convention Centre, and 15 minutes’ walk from the Royal Palace. Fua'amotu International Airport is a 25-minute drive away. There are a number of restaurants and a supermarket within a 10-minute walk. Homely and cozy atmosphere, Malau Lodge features free Wi-Fi and free continental breakfast.
Good but not jezami good.
Reviewed By Darren pWe stayed here for our final night in Tonga, on our arrival we stayed at Jezami hotel. We had ensuite rooms in both places and paid slighlty less for jezami via Expedia. Both places were clean, both served a good breakfast, maybe better at Jezami as it was buffet style. Same options but more of it! The room was bigger at Jezami and there was a TV in the room. Both had limited free wifi, wifi was better at Malau. Malau had tea/coffee in a communal kitchen with small balcony, Jezami had it in the room with a larger private balcony. Both places are very well located for central town and the wharf, short walks. Malau let us down on departure, we booked a private car for $40 pa'anga but were then made to wait an additional 30 minutes at the lodge for someone else to join us. That's ok except we were both charged full price. Not on, poor form. Goven a choice we will book Jezami next time but would'nt ruly out Malau if was was 10-20 dollars cheaper.

Clean & quiet with a comfy king size bed
Reviewed By Michelle CThe Tropical Villa offers comfortable accommodation at a fair price. Our room was nice & clean, the king size bed was comfy & air conditioning was an added bonus. Located only a few kilometres from town & with cooking facilities & a great swimming pool, it is on the main road but there didn't seem to be much road noise in our room. Staff were friendly & helpful & we loved the animals (friendly dogs, cats & pigs!) that hung around the area. We even got treated to a proper tropical rainstorm one of the nights we were there. We will happily return to the Tropical Villa next time we're back in Tonga.

Tonga Holiday Villa is located in Nuku'alofa the capital however on the outskirts which is 7 mins drive into the centre or 35 mins walk . You will enjoy modern living as if you were at home and in a quite secured area . You can book the entire VIlla option this means you will have the entire property to yourself with 2 bathrooms , private kitchen, dining and lounge and also 4 bedrooms , AC & Wifi available . We are almost across Ancient Tonga where they offer cultural shows and dinner on Friday Nights. Scooters are also available for rent.
HOME AWAY FROM HOME
Reviewed By MikeL935My family and I spend 2 weeks in Tonga at this Villa from the 20th dec 2019 till 3rd Jan 2020, there were 6 of us and we booked the entire Villa for us. From the time I decided to booked, the communications to and fro with Neil was always prompt and very helpful and professional and courteous. When we finally arrived at the airport we were met by the Friendly and very helpful and very Patient Driver Sam. The owner live right next door to the property which make it a lot safer because they keep and eye on the property all the time. We met the lovely Owner Paea and her Son's Neil, Sam, Francis and they all made us feel welcomed. The house itself is a grand house consist of 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms...it was very comfortable and we soon made our self at home for the next 2 weeks. We hired a car for the entire time we were there, 1st of all because it is a bit of a hike from the house to Town, and secondly I don't do walking in humid hot day or night for that matter lolz...Paea and her son's repeatedly said if there was anything that we need they're just next door and we sure did pop over numerous time to seek there help one way or another and they're always there to help no matter what. I can't really comment on the wifi, because we all change our sim to the local sim service and paid $25 TOP for a 7GB data and 1000 minutes and texts for local number's only and it was good for 2 weeks..overall our stay at the Tonga Holiday Villa was Awesome...AAA service for sure and we will definately be back for sure.

Nothing worked
Reviewed By olgazza55This place caused us considerable frustration. The TV didn’t work, the fridge didn’t work and the wifi didn’t work. We were told that all rooms had the same problems...the TVs aren’t connected and the fridges aren’t proper fridges anyway. Finally I was given a digicel modem to rectify the wifi. The bathroom and balcony were dirty. The poor staff tried to be helpful but could do nothing about the TV and fridge. The restaurant wasn’t open and we were told breakfast would be brought to our room, it wasn’t ! The following morning it was which we only discovered when leaving to find something open. We were the only guests .....I wonder why? It’s well located but so are a number of others.

Not safe for a solo female traveler
Reviewed By travelsnob2I arrived from NZ around midnight. No one was there to pick me up, an important reason why I picked the hotel. After an hour I gave up. Terrified and alone in a foreign country after midnight, I paid a seemingly kind woman too much money to drive me to the hotel. When I arrived she asked me it was even a hotel since no one was there. The reception was empty. No staff anywhere and now it’s close to 2 am. the kind lady managed to find someone wandering around who let me into my room. I was the only guest and i barricaded the door. There was no staff anywhere the following day. I gave up and left, paid for 2 nights but only stayed one. I double paid for the second night because I had zero faith anyone would help me get to the airport for an early flight to V’avau. Booking the hotel was a huge mistake. I spent my one day in Nukukalofa just trying to figure out how to get help and get back to the airport. A total waste of time, energy, stress, and money. NB The capital is a ghost town on Sundays. It was hard to find even food.

Rooms were clean, spacious,air conditioned and comfortable.Tea/coffee/bottled water provided. Internet Wi-Fi is working good. Located in the heart of the town.Close to markets, bars, and two very good cafes-(Cafe Express,Friends Cafe). Hotel bus pick me up and drop off to the airport for free of charge. Would definitely stay here again.
