Reviewed By allanaowenwe stayed here for 4 nights. andre and jan where the quintessential hosts. they genuinely appeared to love opening their home to us. from the bamboo pillows to the spectacular breakfast settings (a complete different table setting everyday!) and breakfasts to satisfy the most demanding guest this fully restored classic Roger Walker house did not disappoint. every nook and cranny held some treasure collected from the hosts extensive travels. a wonderful experience, almost too amazing to believe.

Reviewed By Angela FWe only stayed for one night but wish it had been for longer. This is one of the best hotels we've stayed at in New Zealand - what a gem. Although the price per night was a bit more than we would normally want to pay, it was worth every penny. We were given an upgrade on arrival and the Suite we were given was fantastic. Hotel was centrally located with access easy to the beach and town centre. We would definitely stay here again when next in New Plymouth.

Reviewed By Margz72The location was great. It was quiet and the view from the room was second to none. We stayed in a motel unit that looked out over the ocean. The local Pukekos kept us entertained as we drank our morning coffee on the deck.

Reviewed By Tim FThe room was great with a very big bed and a great shower everything was very clean. The car park under the building was great too and easy to get to with a lift to take you to floor you need. The room was very quiet even we were on a busy road. The only down for us was the restaurant the food what we had was very nice it is just there was not much to it.

Reviewed By taupogirl2005I have returned here after 8 years since last visit. The rooms are refurbished to an excellent standard. The staff are lovely and the restaurant concierge in the mornings is a lovely man. Chef cooked a divine omlette today. Last night room service was delicious. Thank you for a lovely stay, it's not over yet and I will be back here.

Great Value with Good Location
Reviewed By rb_tb_nzWe always book accommodation hoping for at least 2 things... A comfy bed (Check!) and great wifi (Check! Free and unlimited with around 90 Mbps). Add to that free use of Bicycles and a good location it is easy to see why the Devon is so popular. The only things that were an issue is fairly tired Decor - but we didn't mind as the price reflects this. Also when we stayed (during School Holidays) getting a park after about 6.00pm was a big problem. I assume with people using the Restaurant.

Very enjoyable stay
Reviewed By Mary LWe stayed 4 nights as I had been given a birthday voucher. Our room was on the top floor with a side view of the ocean. The room was clean,comfortable, roomy and very quiet at night. Air conditioning was good. Voucher included a cooked breakfast at the Salt restaurant which we enjoyed each morning after our walk/bike ride on the Coastal walkway. Thanks to all the staff who helped make our visit so pleasant.
