Nile Safari Lodge

Nile Safari Lodge has an iconic reputation due to its unique location in one of the most beautiful settings in Africa. It is here that the mighty River Nile takes centre stage. The lodge allows unhindered views of wild Africa at its most magnificent. Built on an elevated rise on the banks of the River Nile, Nile Safari Lodge surrounds you with the Africa as you always dreamed of. Herds of elephant, hippopotamus, crocodile and other large mammals are regularly sighted from the lodge, as the Nile flows majestically by. The lodge is also famous for its bird life, and is one of the few places from which the elusive shoebill stork can be spotted. While Murchison Falls National Park provides you with exciting animal and nature encounters, Nile Safari Lodge extends this experience with down to earth hospitality. Under new ownership of NOVAM Ltd, as of January 1st 2018

The most beautiful honeymoon❤️??❤️

Reviewed By FionaBaker92

It was mine and my fiancées first time in Uganda for our honeymoon. From the second we booked, we were helped to create a plan for our time in the lodge so we didn’t waste a second. We were greeted warmly, with fresh juice and towels after a long drive. Bags were taken to the room for us and they took our food set straight away for lunch as we looked hungry! I’ve never stayed in a room so beautiful as the honeymoon sweet. It was secluded, we had a private area with a plunge pool, sunloungers and outdoor bed. We slept outside the first night and could hear hippos, lions and all sorts of creatures. It was so romantic❤️ We told the staff we wanted to see a hippo, so they kindly arranged for security to look out for one at night and they came to wake us up at 4am for a mini adventure! The game drive was fantastic and we saw everything which I’m told is very rare. I had a coffee scrub massage on a tiny boat right on the Nile which made me feel brand new! I was fascinated by all the baby monkeys outside my door and around the pool. They were very fun to watch. I have allergies and was catered for amazingly. The chef was wonderful and even came out to ask us if we wanted anything not on the menu, which we found amazingly sweet! The boat tour was great, the guy was full of knowledge and funny and interesting things to say. If I could have stayed forever I would have, the only negative is that I had to leave!!!

Great location, shoddy rooms

Reviewed By VoyagerMal

Very nice location on the Nile. Staff were efficient and friendly, and the food was always excellent. However the rooms were in a shoddy state. I did not have high expectations, but compared to the other wilderness lodges I stayed at during my time in in Uganda, the rooms were by far the worst. The rooms are all solar powered, which is great but their extremely limited battery capacity means they have nowhere to plug in electronics (besides a low amp USB port) so I was not able to plug in my sleep apnoea machine at night or charge any electronics in the room. The low altitude on the equator also meant temperatures at night are quite uncomfortable with no fans to help cool off. All doors don’t latch, and the main door has only a small bar lock to keep it closed. Many other small things are also in a state of disrepair in cabin 1 (closest to the main building). For example the soap holder in the bathroom fell out of the wall on its first use, and was never repaired in my stay, and the floorboards were very uneven and rotting from below. If you are willing to stay in an uncomfortable and disrepaired room, then it was otherwise a good stay.

Perfect stay at Murchison Falls

Reviewed By Bogi09

We spent 3 nights in Bamboo Village, it was a wonderful experience, and we had the best accommodation during our tour in Uganda. It is in a very good location, close to Mubaku gate. The staff was very helpful, they provided us with all the necessary information, they organized our boat cruise to Muchison Falls and to the Delta. Both the owner, Mat and Willy, the manager were very kind and attentive. The rooms are brilliantly clean and tastefully decorated. The food is very delicious and more than plentiful. The first evening the local community performed a dance, it was an incredible atmosphere. We were able to spend one of our lunches at the lookout, and in the evenings we dined by the bonfire.

What a lovely place

Such a nice place to visit, I had a great time. Good sign posting on the road. Lobby had space and soft chairs after a long day. Room was clean, tidy with everything working in it (such a change from most places I'd been). Bed soft, shower warm with an excellent view over the river.Pool was a great palce to unwind and relax. Views down over the river were good with assorted birds and animals coming down for a drink or graze. Food was well presented and tasted wonderful. (Much better than many places I'd been to. Good location for drives to Budongo, ferry and Murchison Falls. Owner was very helpful with all sorts of things. Sad I only spent 4 days there. It was the best place I stayed in after 13 months in Uganda

Budongo Eco Lodge

Budongo Eco Lodge, also known as the Kaniyo Pabidi Ecotourism site, is located in the heart of Budongo Forest Reserve, in Murchison Falls National Park. The lodge consists of comfortable eco-cabins with private veranda, four spacious dorm rooms, a visitor's centre and restaurant. In addition, many different forest activities are offered in the direct surroundings, including chimp tracking, chimpanzee habituation, forest walks and bird watching.

I did not stay but called in for Chip Tracking- this was an outstanding experience.

I had looked on the web page and it said this place was closed but as I was leaving Murchison Falls National Park, I saw the very small sign for Chip Tracking so we called in. The Eco Lodge is open and the Chimp Tracking tours are on. This tour was one of the highlights of my life, to see the chimps in the wild, on the ground was a once in a lifetime experience. Highly recommended.

RUN DOWN

Reviewed By LaurieLuton

This was my fifth stay here and the most disappointing. After the lockdown, it is in need of some tender care and attention. When we arrived the bar/restaurant area was littered with plastic bottles, cigarette ends and bottle tops. Funnily enough the following day it was cleared up and the staff were wearing face masks, I understood the owner was visiting. If there is a manager it is not apparent. The only saving grace is the food is excellent accepting that in such an outpost the menu is limited. Appreciating that they are coming out of a very difficult period there are some basic things they could do to make you feel welcome but the feeling is that anything will do.

What a wonderful world.

Reviewed By George O

I and my newly wedded wife spent six days at Chobe, the experience was amazing, we had a lot of fun, the food was great and the swimming pool was very clean and well attended to all the time. The staff were very friendly and kind to us but we have to mention this one guy who changed our lives forever, George! This guy is amazing he literally turned our honeymoon experience into a mark stone that we shall never forget, because of him Chobe has found a special place in our hearts and we shall always come back again, Kudos to the Front Office team and the amazing chef who delivered great meals on a daily basis.
