Comfortable and spacious rooms

Our rooms were spacious, very comfortable beds, spotless clean bathrooms. All in all, very restful break and good value for money. The staff was very helpful. The saunas in the leisure center were heated up by 7 am when we went down.

Barnabrow Country House

Barnabrow Country House, dating from 1639, has been lovingly and extensively restored over the past ten years. It now proudly stands as one of the most stunning wedding venues in Munster. It sprawls over 35 acres, has 22 individually-designed bedrooms and a large medieval-style banqueting hall that seats 150 guests as well as some traditional self-catering cottages. It is relaxed and friendly and offers a truly different ambiance for celebrations that are bespoke and exclusive.

Wedding Guest

We arrived in this charming venue with family members appearing from various cottages and corners of the property. It felt like our own personal village! Very unusual. The wedding ceremony (which was my brother and his bride) was held in an outdoor garden. It was like being in a Hollywood movie. It was also a great property for the younger children who ran about all day exploring the various paths and feeding the goats and visiting the donkeys. There is a lovely space with a piano where the family members who could play got to show off their repertoire. Very relaxed and something different for a wedding or indeed any special occasion.

Ballynona House

Quaint country house

Lovely quaint house in the country. The room and bathroom were large, everything was comfortable and homely - nice informal rural atmosphere with friendly dogs and cats around. Kamla the hostess was friendly and helpful, there was a beautifully presented breakfast, and we had a lovely chat. In the evening she left the house and rescued me when Google maps got me lost - weather conditions were bad and internet was disturbed. In fact the house is only a few kms from Midleton. It was a terrific experience and I would be delighted to stay again whenever I might be in the area

nice & noisy stay

Reviewed By tallf2018

very friendly b&b owners Willie & Triona. We stayed there awaiting our ferry from Cork (Ireland) back to Roscoff in Bretagne (France). One dsadvantage, too close to the big highway N25. Easy access to nice village of Midleton. Good places to eat. Also nearby mountainbike park of Curragh woods (Coillte) is a nice adventure. Steep trails, although not well indicated. Nevertheless, give it a try.

There is also a kitchenette for guests use with fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and filtered water dispenser. Full Irish breakfast is available and dietary needs catered for.

A little tricky to find in the dark but guided in by the host.

A pleasant welcome stop for the night after a long first day in Ireland - in spite of our late arrival. Good, clean accommodation. Shared facilities for tea making, cereal and toast upstairs but that was fine. Good value breakfast.
