Great Spot for the money

It’s not the Ritz, but this quaint place is super clean, with excellent service and a very charming staff. Directly across from the beach - and the main beach road it can be a bit of road noise, but location makes for that. And the owner is a real gem!

Good, but with faults!

Reviewed By Ann371

The positives were a well kept, clean hotel with a very good breakfast. However there was just something lacking in the staff's ability to care for their guests. To begin when we arrived, we found we only had towels and toiletries for one and when we reported this to reception, they insisted on checking for themselves, why didn't they believe us? Secondly, we had to ask for a map of the town and when we asked them where the Tourist Office was, they told us wrong. When we found the office it was closed due to a public holiday. The response from the hotel, was "we wouldn't know, as we are at work" Well sorry about that, but their guests weren't! Finally, after a warm week with warm nights, we discovered our Aircon control had been removed on the last night, when we asked the next day, the reply was "It's winter now". When we suggested surely they could have waited one more night. The reply a shrug! Again, the hotel was more interested in them than their guests. Disappointing! A good value stay, but civility and helpfulness costs nothing!

Fantastic place, close to the beach, friendly, very helpful staff, completely oriented to the guests, extremely clean rooms, quiet street, the best breakfasts I have ever eaten in hotels (and I have eaten a lot of them). I totally recommend this unique place to everyone! The "vitamins" served by the owner were the greatest pleasure !!

We loved our stay!

Reviewed By Kirsten39

We stayed at this hotel for two nights with our two teenage daughters in August 2021. We all really liked the room and the hotel as a whole. The staff at the réception and at the bar were very friendly and helpful. A big plus is the fact that you can borrow bikes to explore the town or go to the beach. The pool is nice but small and is surrounded by a huge garden. We would defjnitely recommend this place and would gladly come back.

Camping Dolce Sole

Not used to camping, this was good!

Reviewed By Jo G

Owners are very nice people (even though one is a Torino fan ;-). Normally, I do not go on camping, but I wanted to give it a try, since we wanted to visit both the Alpi Apuane and Cinque Terre. To visit the cities of Carrara and Massa, as well as the Apuane and Cinque Terre, if you go by car, this is a very good alternative, since it is close to the beach and the mentioned attractions. The "little house" is nice, and facilities are good and toiles/baths clean. There is a good Carrefour nearby, where you can stock up on things you need. The bar makes some really good coffee, and as I said before, the owners are really helpful and extremely sympathetic. There are also some good eating local places (like seafood at Girasole) nearby in terms of walking distances, but else, if you do not want to cook yourself, go to Massa, which is nothing more than a 10 minutes ride and which hosts some seriously good restaurants. Camping Dolce Sole felt me wanting to on camping again, after more than 20 years without going - a very good experience, and a nice place, with good and easy access to Cinque Terre/La Spezia (a very short ride). Definitely good value. If really hot (not necessary in June), bring a portable fan eventually. The place is cozy and my three years old daughter she loved it!

In the center

Reviewed By welcomeoctober

The hotel is located in the center. The walk up to the sea takes 3 mins, to the free beach and the pier - 5-7 mins. There are many restaurants right on this street. So it could be pretty noisy in the evening due to music and people talking, it was ok for us, but if you prefer to sleep in silence, take a look at hotels further from the center. Our room 104 with lovely corner balcony was very light and clean, the breakfast was not various, which is usual for Italy. The wi-fi signal was excellent in the room and in the breakfast zone. Some staff speak English quite good, some don't, but it wasn't a problem to understand each other. And the private parking was a great bonus for us, especially in Tuscany. P.S. Visited in July 2015 (can't select a date before October).

everything here is 5euros extra. You have to pay for sheets, towels and air conditioning. keep in mind that the price of the bangaloo is not that cheap, it's actually quite spicy. It looks quite airy in the photos but the overall feeling is that there are lot of "houses" per square foot and they keep on going, quite a lot of them. As long as you do not mind seeing a neighbour/ window/house everywhere you look, this is the place for you. Bare in mind that due to the large number of people here, the place is quite noise, till late in the night.
