A nice place to stay
Reviewed By SimplyVevaStayed for 2 nights with friends, a plesant place and a comfy one. Although the bathroom drainage is slow to go down and eventually causes flooding, and the AC conditions are not stable, but overall, still good and fun.

Reviewed By stuffmattersThis was my third stay at Villa Ma,Rasai and the second in quick succession since the opening of the new wing. The extension further improves what was already a unique offering particularly when compared to the rather characterless business hotel alternatives. Although Villa Ma Rasai is out of town this is by no means a constraint as Hasrun, the owner is more than happy to efficiently organise airport transfers, tours or other transport as required. Indeed the day tour to Tidore he organised is highly recommended. One key advantage of the location is the spectacular views with my room providing a fantastic view from its balcony over the coast and volcanoes. A hard to beat location to enjoy a cold beer. Villa Ma Rasai has its own restaurant which although it has a limited menu does offer a few tasty options.

Great Location
Reviewed By pjoy5I arrived in Amahusu by boat. I had not booked any accommodation and as this hotel was in the perfect location I chose it. I booked a standard room, wrong choice, for a few extra rupes a deluxe room would have been better or a cottage. The bed was comfortable and it didn't rock. There were a few things wrong with the room, the most important one, the toilet was fixed after several requests. The staff are very friendly and try to help. Laundry service was excellent.The rooms are about 30-40$Aud a night. There is a long bar/dining area overlooking the beach. Stick to the tried and true meals, my meal was really terrible. The sea water has a lot of rubbish/plastic in it. I did see efforts to try and clean it up, a real problem. I really enjoyed the area and there is lots to do.

Reviewed By Gottfried ZAt the end of 3 months travelling in Indonesia this hotel had everything to relax and enjoy. Very spacious well furnished room with balcony facing the volcano of opposite island of Tidore, nice bathroom. I mentioned to the manager I was astonished not to have found cloves in the markets, most wanted good of these "Spice Islands", which paid for the beautiful houses in Amsterdam. To find out which spice I meant he came back from the kitchen with a small plate with a selection of spices. A lady of the staff later brought me not only the desired cloves but also the very attractive fruits of her nutmeg tree. And they smiled and were happy to help me. Perfect stay with personal touch!

Reviewed By nisafadilaaI had problem while check in because my booking in trav*loka didn't connect to the hotel's database (they didn't update the room availability to trav*loka). I wait for 4 hours at night because of it. Thankfully trav*loka and the staff were helpful. The staff even offered me higher type of room. There was a strange smell in bathroom. Room was so-so. Breakfast was great but low variability.

You have to tried Nasi Kuning which offerred near the hotel. Accros the hotel, you can find the Nasi Kuning with sweet jerky deer which opened at night.

Location is great but you can get to shops from another Hotel
Reviewed By AndreaZoiaI was surprised that this is rated as a 3-star hotel especially when I have stayed in 2-star hotels that were much better and cheaper. On the upside, its location on Ratulangi is close to a few cafes, restaurants, the market and Ambon Plaza. I thought that this hotel was close to the war cemetery but the hotel booking site's map was wrong, A bus from the market takes me to the cemetery so no problem there. The breakfast is included but I can only eat an omelet and toast. There is no normal milk for the coffee and the coffee is awful anyway. I would have been better going to Barista Cafe around the corner. The breakfast room has tables and chairs, toilets and a television as well as an outdoor balcony area. Unfortunately, this is all locked up after breakfast so there is no communal area. Instead at night, everyone gathers in the hallway near the lifts, smoking, talking and eating. I booked smoking but got a non-smoking room, after protesting got a room with a window so problem solved. The bathroom is open to the outside which means you have to shut your bathroom door or the cockroaches will wake you. The room was not always made up either so not staying here again. Would rather walk or becak to Jl Ratulangi from another hotel.
