Restaurant with local cuisine and charming rooms. The House of Marica is situated within the majestic walls of the picturesque medieval village of Smartno. Once a military fort, today, a romantic place, where it seems that time stopped long ago. The old renovated homestead was named after "Nona" Marica, (Grandmother Marica) who spoiled children with simple but excellent local dishes.

All renovated with very good taste, it offers trendy rooms in style and first-class restaurant with great choice of local wines. A little bit pricey, but worth it. Friendly staff and the lady owner will take their time for a chat with you. Loved it really and can recommend to all who search for something more than just a standard hotel accommodation. You will feel like at home.

Reviewed By Aljaž KVery nice and quit place in wine countryside called Brda. Owner was very friendly and let us stay at the poolside after checkout. Braeakfast was included in price and it wad very tasty. Dogs are allowd.

Located in the village of Šmartno there is family-runned, ecologically oriented hotel San Martin offers accommodation in 13 modern rooms, 2 suites, 2 family rooms, superior room, triple room and an apartment. During your stay you can relax in the wellness center (sauna) with wonderful panoramic view on the vineyards and enjoy simple luch or romantic dinner in panoramic bistro, where you can also just drink an aperitiv or cocktail and enjoy wines from regional winemakers while relaxing on the terrace with a stunning view. There is also possibility to rent e-bikes and explore brda region into the details.
Poor, but expensive breakfast
Reviewed By johndjohnWe called to come for a breakfast at 9 am from a nearby suites in the same village where we were staying. Hotel San Martin offers a self service breakfast but we came to almost empty, picked over and messy buffet that was not replenished while we were eating. Very average food, bad coffee, cheap juice. And all that for 15 € per person (though on the phone they said 12 €). I understand it's a great location and the prices are set higher but you have to offer something for that price. 30 € for that food is offensive. On the previous morning we ate fabulous breakfast for 50 € at Morus estate and for that one we would pay even more.

The real countryside
Reviewed By 873markokSo good and so close. If you are looking for a real experience of the Slovenian countryside, this is the right place for you. The landscape is perfect, small villages on the hills surraunded with vineyards and olive trees, mild climate green even in summer. And the farm house Stekar. Wough. Excellent place to stay, amazing wines and food. Almast everything from their fields, prepared with love, knowlidge and imagination. One of the best vacations ever. Bravo.

Les villages environnants, la suggestion de restaurant faite par la famille, la très confortable tente/cabine directement sous la vigne, avec un accès à une salle de bain privée et un frigo. Le tout impeccablement propre. Les propriétaires et la famille étaient très accueillants. L’accueil et le déjeuner étaient généreux! Nous nous sommes sentis à la maison. Et que dire du magnifique point de vue sur les environs et la très jolie terrasse+piscine, tellement agréable. Merci à vous!
