Worthy of a longer visit
Reviewed By nielsr716We just stayed here for one night travelling home. But the surroundings (in the middle of vineyards) warrants a longer stay. Modern bedroom and bathroom. Restaurant has some great meals and breakfast has freshly baked bread and buns. Looks like every room has a balcony overlooking the valley region. Unexpected gem this "close" to the motorway

Wonderful Old Building, Fantastic Food
Reviewed By Kathy GThis was the second time we had stayed here as we had enjoyed it so much last year. It is an impressive timbered building with lots of window boxes of red geraniums , set in a kind of valley between high slopes of vines front and back which is very picturesque. There is no lift which is a little disadvantage, but the car park is large. For people who need wheelchairs or can't walk well , this hotel can be a challenge the path slopes up a lot from the car park to the entrance, having said that my husband with a prosthetic leg managed it ! The rooms are spacious, many with balconies with tables and chairs on to sit and enjoy the views. The beds are very comfortable and our room also had a settee and chair so you can sit and read or watch TV. The restaurant menu is not vast, but they do seasonal menus and the Autumn one used pumpkin, and all dishes are generous portions beautifully decorated like a top London restaurant. Several of the waiting staff speak English too which helps with translating the menu! They make their own wine here too, which although not cheap is of very good quality. The dining room it's self has dark wooden panelling and lots of pretty antiques and clocks, it really is charming, fresh flowers on each table and candles too. The service is very attentive and professional. Breakfast is attractively laid out in part of the restaurant, you can order bacon and eggs, and there is the usual cold ham, cheese, yoghurt and torte, different breads and rolls. There is an excellent wine shop just down the road called Walldum, their Reisling is second to none! The whole area is picturesque and around Autumn is fantastic with the vine leaves turning gold and red, and lots of pumpkins adorning the front gardens and for sale using an honesty box. Try this hotel and this area, you won't be sorry.

Quirky
Reviewed By CelticFireStayed here during the Covid pandemic. It’s a quirky little hotel, understated from the outside but very unusual inside. It’s a bit like a Disney theme castle but not in a tacky way. Covid precautions were good. Very nice breakfast which complied with all precautions. Would like to return.

Renovated rooms
Reviewed By GelderlanderNicely renovated hotel. We had a great comfortable room. The bathroom was nicely done, looked spic & span. The room comes with a nice terrace overseeing the hill with Schlossgut Rodeck behind the hotel. Indeed the church with the ubiquitous church bells are behind the hotel and yes you may hear them but did not bother me at all. Breakfast is good, real Germanic, fresh bread and good meat and cheese. Price quality a real winner.

A wonderful, family-friendly holiday apartment
Reviewed By steve_p_deAs someone looking for holiday accommodation that was suitable for a couple with young children, Ferienhof Benz was perfect. Located on a quiet farm at the edge of the Black Forest region, the accommodation is peaceful and rural but not too isolated for visitors with a car. The surroundings are beautiful and the owners clearly put a lot of energy into making the farm itself look strikingly pretty, with fresh flowers and varnished woodwork everywhere. The apartment is spacious with comfortable sofas and modern appliances. Everything is very clean and kept in perfect condition. The kitchen is modern and has everything provided that one could need for a self-catering holiday. The bedrooms are comfortable and modern and, in particular, the children's bedroom is homely, welcoming and cosy with real effort put into things like nightlights and decoration to make it a real children's room, not just a spare room. The farm as a whole is perfectly provisioned for children, with nice little playgrounds scattered around the farm, including sandpits, toys and climbing frames. There is also a fantastic playroom on the bottom floor of the guest apartments where you can find all the toys that (presumably) were inherited from the children of the farm, including lego, toys for boys and girls, games and lots of (German) children's books. The only negative point I can think of is one that affects most holiday apartments: the internet connection is rather slow. It's useable, but don't plan on watching any high-resolution YouTube videos. In the end, though, for our purposes as a family looking for a quiet holiday, this location was truly perfect. Highly recommended.

Reviewed By Eiskalt65Ich war von meiner Firma aus in diesem ( Hotel mit 3 Sternen ? ) wo ich mich frage wer bitte hat von dem Gaststätten und Hotel Verband diesem Hotel 3 Sterne gegeben? Da ich aus Beruflichen Gründen schon in vielen Hotels war unter anderen auch in 1 2 3 oder 4 Sterne Hotels. Aber sowas was ich in diesem Hotel vorgefunden habe ist nicht Mals 1 Stern wert. Man hat mir ein Zimmer gegeben das nicht gereinigt war vom Vorgänger. Auf dem Balkon stand noch der Volle Aschenbescher mit alten Zigaretten. das Zimmer war total Verqualmt von dem Vorgänger in dem WC waren Tote Tiere im Wasser auf dem Boden lagen Überreste vom Vorgänger. Der Kleiderschrank hat penetrant nach Moder gestunken. Das Waschbecken im Badezimmer war total Verdreckt. Ich muss sagen sowas habe ich noch nie erlebt. Normalerweise war für mich ein Zimmer für 14 Tage gebucht von der Firma aus die 2 Woche habe ich abgebucht und gehe freiwillig in ein anderes Hotel. Dann habe ich Abends Gegessen Sauerbraten das Essen war halb kalt und hat teilweise Bitter geschmeckt. Daher habe ich es vorgezogen dort nichts mehr zu Essen. Meine Firma hatte das Zimmer ohne Frühstück gebucht das war auch besser so denn ich hätte in diesem Hotel nichts mehr essen können. Noch was Privatsphäre hat man dort auch nicht weil die Gardinen im Zimmer viel zu klein sind um das ganze Fenster abzudecken. Nur sind die Balkone so das der Nachbar vom anderen Zimmer auf dein Balkon laufen kann. Was bitte ist das für ein Hotel ? Zum Schluss des Ganzen ich würde diese Hotel niemanden Empfehlen und bin auch am Überlegen ob ich die Bilder die ich von diesem Dreckigem Zimmer gemacht habe dem Hotel und Gaststättenverband zusenden soll. Denn für mich hat dieses Hotel nicht 1 Stern Verdient Wenn ich diesem Hotel nach Schulnoten eine Note geben müsste würde ich dem Hotel eine 6 - geben !!!!!
