Reviewed By shamealFirst time staying at Seri Malaysia Kangar. The room is cosy and well kept. Toilet is clean but water pressure for the upper floor rooms are a bit low. Food are great and quite cheap for a hotel. The surrounding garden is well kept and clean. Pool is well maintained. Highly recommended when you are in Kangar. Take the deluxe room on upper floor, then you will enjoy it.

Reviewed By RENERONOthis is the best place to stay at kangar, the motel is with nice decoration and always refresh for every time my visit, my room look like newly renovated, staff very friendly especially Anis, she is very nice person and an a asset to the hotel. Nice scenery and fresh view in the morning Even-thought with 2 floor but the motel is with elevator and the motel always kept clean. except the light at door entrance was always trip and nobody come and fixed it till check out but they promise to fix it. anyway we really enjoy with the simple breakfast, weldone to the management but please look at my comment and pls take my comment positively and ensure the request must be attended immediately.

A small, but nice and clean hotel
Reviewed By ingvalldI visited during a short trip to Malaysia and Thailand. This hotel was recommended by friends living in the area, and it was a good choice. The rooms were spacious and very clean. I was only missing hot water on the tap in the bathroom as I like to shave with hot water. There is no fridge in the room, but hot and cold water is available from the dispenser in the corridor. Checking in was smooth. The hotel does not have a lift. We were happy with our stay.

UNBELIEVABLE!!
Reviewed By Ginachan CWe were booked for 1 night at Ants Hotel as we were using the Roro Ferry to Langkawi the next morning. This hotel has so many 'don't haves and don't provide', its unbelievable. (1) No coffee and tea making facilities (2) TV had only 2 channels, TV1 and TV3. No news channels. (3) No shops nearby to buy drinks (4) Only rain shower provided (5) No windows in the very small and claustrophobic room We actually paid RM110+ for the rooms and there was a notice that the hotel was offering RM95 at the reception. And when we complained about the windowless rooms, we were told we would each have to pay another RM30 if we wanted rooms with window! A rip off place. When I requested for a kettle, I was given one. But when I requested for a mug or teaspoon to make a drink, I was told that only 2 small glasses are provided in the room. And that was all. There was a shower cap provided by the way, but it was hidden in the cupboard, not in the bathroom. I would not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel. Seriously.

A lovely family in the middle of mangos fields.
Reviewed By Arthur GTravelling is about meeting people and I had the chance with my girlfriend to discover this faboulous family owning the guesthouse. The mother, a kind woman with a big heart takes care of the place. The room was one of the cleanest that we have found in Malaysia. If you are lucky, this kind woman will bring you the lastest fruit from their own farm. Yes, that’s the most interesting part. The owners are mainly farmers and you can visit the farm if you asked gently. The farm is composed by durians, mangos and many different trees. Houndreds of hectars of wildness can be offered to you. The father would be proud to show you his lastest harvest and his collection of old cars. Around 25 cars from the 50s that the owner fixed and painted by himself ! If you are an early bird, you can visit the morning market next to the guesthouse. A true opportunity to really see what’s happening in the life of Malaysian people. Thanks to this wonderful family and particurlarly to James their son.

Cant find a good word to describe it
Reviewed By RyunamiMy original plan was to stay here with a friend but once i paid and checked in and seeing the poor condition of this motel, i called my friend to find other better place to stay in Kangar and closer to the town (this motel is far from the town, about 5-6k to reach the town because i didnt travel with a car but thank god for the Grab service which limited around the town). So i braved through the nightmare for 3 days and 2 nights. The receptionists of the motel are men from the Middle East and i dont think they can speak Malay and their English are barely understandable. I had been to cheaper motels in Malaysia before (ie a room with only RM30 per night in Kuching) but nothing prepared me for this overly-run-down place with a price of about RM140 for 2 nights. I booked a room for two (in my booking sheet i supposed to get two separate beds) and was given a room with a queen bed instead without window (actually almost all rooms have no windows eventhough i saw rooms with windows in the promo pictures) on the 1st floor of the motel. There are 5-6 guestrooms on the 1st floor (upper floor). Imagine being stuck up in a small dirty room without a window for 3 days. The room - i had a problem finding my room because my room was the only one without a number- hillariously i found the number written on a little sheet of paper inside the room on the floor. The room has dirty old carpet, a bed with lizard's droppings, bedsheet full of stains, aircond with water leaked out of it, the room was too small for me to do the prayers, with no kiblat's direction in the room. Not to mention ceiling near the ceiling lamp almost falling down. The lcd TV inside the room is not functional at all and being put in the room as a decoration. Worst the remote control given to me was without batteries ???? . Thank god the aircond's remote control was ok. More thanks to god i remember to bring a cable with longer wire to charge my cellphones and powerbank because the plug was too far high. The whole upper building is super hot without airconditioner and you need to ask for permission to get to the pantry which is situated downstairs (meaning the guests staying upstairs almost have no access to free drinks). The bathroom - there are 3 bathrooms with a toilet inside but without hot shower. There is another 1 but very old bathroom with a hot shower but without a toilet. All these 4 bathrooms are quite dirty. I dont think the management of this motel knows the concept of cleanliness because the upper floor and the front door outside the motel are dirty with dusts and not being sweep off. Maybe they are too poor to do the clean up. Last not least, the motel was super safe at night because the receptionist guarded the entrance door.

Reviewed By Balvir KReception - Friendly and quick. Room - 711 An awesomely spacious room. Tea coffee facilities were provided. The bathroom was not all that clean. Perhaps due to the MCO and the premises was closed for almost 3 months. Toiletteries were provided every day. Clean, white towels. The bed was comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. Very little of the traffic could be heard and that wasnt a nuisance at all. Swimming pool was closed. Through the window of my room, I could see that the pool seemed to be fairly large, Coffee House - Most of the days, the breakfast was ala-carte. Only when the crowd picked up, that's when we had buffet spread consisting of local dishes of nasi lemak and noodles. Bread, butter, jam, eggs was served too. Location - Ideal location for travellers who wish to go to Padang Besar (34km), Kuala Perlis jetty being only 10km away too. Its close to the city centre, can take about 15mins walk or 5 mins drive. Just across the road is an eatery called Bossku. Though I noticed many cars parked during meal hours, I did not have the chance to walk in there. If you wish to enjoy some ikan bakar along the seaview, do drive up towards Jetty Langkawi (20 mins drive) and you will find a huge row of shops. For Chinese seafood, you can go to Hai Thien. If you like some cafe setting, try Blackwood, just a 5 minutes drive from the hotel. For shopping , drive to Arau (7km away) and go to C Mart. All in all, if I have to come back again to Kangar, I shall certainly stay here.
