Nice hotel and area
Reviewed By Kateto999We spent a great 7-night vacation at this cozy hotel. Lovely staff, good food, clean and comfortable. Our two children liked the indoor pool, the play room and all winter attractions in the area. We are not skiing but all of us had so much fun snow tubing, tobogganing or just wandering in the snowy paths in the forest. Faistenau is famous for cross country skiing. However, there are a few ski lifts suitable mainly for children. The villiage is not overcrowded and it is what we are looking for. All people we met in the area were very friendly and helpful. For sure we can recommend the hotel and the village. We would come back even during another season. In our opinion Faistenau is beautiful and can offer lots of attractions during all seasons.

Any one who found it below their expectations should perhaps do their research about what they are looking for better which might mean they might have to pay a bit more. We had a lovely time.

Reviewed By sally962014We stayed at this guesthouse for a long weekend and it entirely lived up to ur expectations. Our room was were immaculate and very comfortable. It was exactly as descriobed with a lovely view from our window. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast definitely exceeded expectations. There was a wide variety of options, mostly local from the region and much of it home made. If you like boiled eggs you will not be disappointed. They were as good as if I had bolied them myself which is so often not the case in hotels. I will definitely stay at Gasthof Botenwirt again if the opportunity arises.

Reviewed By pandorabpaThe hotel has an incredible spa, one of the best I've ever been in, something out of this world. The whole wellness area has been designed with much passion and attention to detail. The owners are friendly and take the time to get to know the guests and their needs. I found the food delicious and the staff was highly professional. Although Fischerwirt is located on the roadside, the surroundings are quiet and very beautiful. Lots of hikes at all levels are very near.

Reviewed By pipfunkiterBest rooms with view are probably at the front with the veranda but even the view from the rear at this time of year was pretty spectacular....its a magical place...The rooms are nice and warm...quiet......more like home than a hotel and the room is refreshed every other day...There is a spar shop 30 yards down the road for getting food and whatever and there are restaurants in and around faistinau...ski ing is right on the door step and you can get a bus to salzburg on the hour...louis the guy who runs the place speaks really good english and was super helpful beyond the brochure.......more than enough to get you through without any problems so english welcome...Im planning to go back in september to explore the mountains on a bike and will definitely be staying at bayrhammer

Idyllisch gelegen am See - modern und liebevoll eingerichtete Zimmer, ausgezeichnetes Frühstück und herzliche Gastgeber - was will man mehr! Wir kommen sicher wieder !

The apartment was spotless, the owner is very welcoming and was very concerned about our initial problem with the fridge, which was solved promptly. The kitchen boasts above standard equipment such as electric grill or a dishwasher which we had not anticipated. Beds were very comfortable, rooms big (2 separate bedrooms), which was very convenient while travelling with our teenage kids. The only drawback was the bedrooms facing a busy road, it was very daunting to open the window at night as the cars passing by are really noisy and make it impossible to get a good night´s sleep. Very advisable to ask for the apartment facing the back garden.

Reviewed By drbalasakosWe were in hotel with a group of friends. That was very fine. The rooms are clear, the wiew to lake is nice.The host is very friendly. We skied, the house has room for the ski boot with heat. If we can do we will go to the next year.

Great rooms with an amazing view
Reviewed By camilanasshelmiWe stayed in the pension over the Christmas week and it was great. We rented a flat with 2 rooms, fully equipped kitchen, TV area and bathrooms. The owner of the pension was super friendly and took care of our needs. The location of the pension is also great, there restaurants and a bakery around. The place is also great for people who like winter sports as it is close to ski stations. faistenau is located close to Salzburg so I’d suggest a day trip to town for site seeing ☺️ Overall a great experience and I’d highly recommend the stay.

It's ok but nothing more
Reviewed By Nina KThe parking place was extremely icy, it was hard to get out of the car without falling on the slippery ground... On the first two days the host asked us to park on a spot where something was dropping on our car (limestone maybe?!) which couldn't be removed afterwards. Breakfast was fine but definately lower standard than average Austrian guesthouses (cheap ham, tiny little piece of cheese etc.) What you see on the pic about the breakfast: we received about 1/4 of it. We spent 3 nights in this place but the room was not cleaned at all, we haven't received any clean towels either. (The host emptied the trash cans once.) Traffic noise can be heard as house is situated by the main road. Noise and speech from other rooms can be heard, even understood. We had a nice, huge, new room, which was very clean. Unfortunately it was so new that there were no shades on any windows which made us wake up early. There was a nice view on the snowy hills from the top floor room (lower floors probably don't have that view since there is a huge tree in front of the house). Bed was comfortable, bathroom brand new. Host was helpful with tourist information.
