Reviewed By 07nanI booked this hotel based on it's proximity to Melk, as we were going to tour the Abbey. The location is hard to beat, convenient to Melk, and the restaurants there. It has plenty of parking too if you have a car. The room itself was very nice, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good as well, a large selection available. And the staff we spoke with in the morning were nice, friendly and helpful, recommending some towns to drive to after we were done with visiting the Abbey. It was also reasonably priced. We didn't eat at the restaurant on site, it was closed the evening we stayed.

Reviewed By dannychan_sgWe stayed four nights at Gästehaus Egger en route from Gmunden to Wien. The place is well kept, tidy and clean. The towels and sheets provided were clean as well. The place is located in a convenient location for exploring the other towns (Melk, Krems, Dürnstein, etc.), with a car, in Wachau. The host/owner was friendly as well and we'd good interactions with her during our stay. Overall a pleasant stay!

The guesthouse "Black Bear Inn" was founded in 1908. Since then, the hotel offers its guests an authentic expereince of the Wachau Valley. There are numerous touristic sites around Emmersdorf an der Donau and Melk. Especially famous are the Melk Abbey, the Castle ruins Aggstein and the Arstetten Castle. The hotel has a large wellness and spa area, as well as a fitness room. The restaurant offers traditional Austrian specialitites and a wide selection of regional wines. Here, guests may find the perfect place for their wedding or birthday party, company party or seminars. We offer our guests - tourists, business people, bike tourists, culture or wine lovers - excellent service and unforgettable moments!

Reviewed By Colibri2021- the girl at front desk charged 30 euros more as it would have been the price if we’d made the reservation the same day in the morning via booking.com. when we complained that booking is a lot cheaper, she just laughed that booking.com has very bad pricing policy. not clear although why they collaborate with booking.com, if they front desk staff criticizes them... - spa is just from 4 pm till 8 pm, in the morning closed - the closed cycle garage is full with hotel rental bikes. We barely found free space for our own bikes as everywhere the hotel bikes were hanging - even when switching the heating in our room to maximum, it was still cold in the room

Reviewed By Cherry MStaff were great at thi# hotel. We had been travelling around Europe and staying in different hotels so we were used to just a hi from staff and sometimes no welcome. From the time we arrived, Daniel welcomed us with a smile even though he was very busy. Great manager! He made us feel so welcomed and I could see him welcome everyone who came thru hotel. It looks like all the staff that are there work really hard as there never seemed to be enough staff. Daniel made us feel welcomed and helped us find a taxi and told us on what is good to see in the area. Very helpful and welcoming manager!

B&B with great views on the edge of a village
Reviewed By Arthur PLocated near the village Emmersdorf, with great views across the Danube to Melk Abbey. Friendly hosts who provided an excellent breakfast to commence each day. Comfortable and clean room with balcony views at an affordable price. Drinks were available on an honesty system. Off street car parking was a bonus.

Reviewed By klemm2015Ein Geburtstagsfest im Kreis der Familie, für die Kinder gibt es viele Freizeitmöglichkeiten, einen großen Spielplatz, Tiergehege. Das Essen ist sehr bodenständig, diesmal gab es als Spezialität Steinofen Pizzen, die man an Hand einer Liste selbst belegen konnte. Einmalig, nett und herzliche Bedienung.

Reviewed By TeminamaОтличный отель за вменяемый цену в прекрасном месте. Комната уютная и чистая, с балконом. Ванная комната моловата. На территории есть бассейн. Завтрак отличный- мясная и сырная нарезки, выпечка, джем собственного приготвления, паштет, сок, кофе. Хозяйка Лисбет очень гостеприимный и доброжелательный человек, варит вкуснейшие абрикосовые джемы. Добираться на машине.

Reviewed By alauriWir kamen sehr spät an und fragen uns schon ob wir richtig waren, nach dem Läuten knarrte es. Die Zimmer sind einfach und sauber, und nicht ganz modern aber das stört nicht. Wer in dem Gemäuer hoch geht und die Stiege knarren hört und das Frühstück unten im Saal mit hausgemachter wachauer Marillenmarmelade isst, dem ist das egal. Die Wirtin ist überaus freundlich und der Preis ist top. Ich würde das Hotel vor allem für Leute empfehlen die gerne in der Umgebung verweilen wollen und nicht die "Donaupreise" bezahlen wollen.
