Family-run luxury hotel (52 rooms/suites) situated in a privileged location on a sunny plateau high above Ellmau with a breath-taking view to the Wilder Kaiser. The hotel is directly next to the Hartkaiser valley descent and additionally is especially in summer the perfect starting point for long, adventurous hikes. Ski-in/Ski-out Comfortable Resort
Reviewed By Epont2010The food is impeccable (I think we gained 10 lbs each from breakfast alone), the views of the mountains are stunning on both the valley and mountain sides, the staff are prompt, friendly and speak English. The bathroom is large, the room is comfortable with a great bed and large windows. I do wish it had a hot tub/spa with jets. When we ski, we love to relax in a hot tub. It does have 2 saunas, though. The hotel will retrieve your skis from Intersport and drop them back off when you're done. The ski locker room is extremely convenient. If you stay in a room facing the mountain, you can literally ski from your balcony down to the Hartkaiser gondola. When you're done for the day, you can ski directly from a blue groomed piste back to your balcony. They make snow on this piste, so I'd find it unlikely to be closed. There aren't many opportunities to apres ski after dark because most of the bars and clubs are located in the town of Ellmau and this resort is up the mountain a bit. Maybe you could take a taxi. We never felt the need to go to town as this resort has a lovely, quiet bar and we were so tired from skiing every day. The Lampert family is incredibly warm and hospitable and really made our stay wonderful. Our one regret is that we booked only 4 nights.

A lovely hotel
Reviewed By rookayjWe stayed here for a week at the beginning of February. It is in a great location for the mountains. At the bottom of a chairlift to one mountain and a short walk to the main gondola. We only had breakfast in the lounge/reception area during our stay. The salami and cheese bread rolls were delicious. The juices were a little overpriced. We would usually come back to the lounge area after skiing for some drinks and a rest in front of the fire. The mai tais were great. Anna, who worked in the bar area in the afternoon/evening, was excellent. She was very attentive and always checking to see if anyone wanted more food/drink. The live music on during a couple of evenings was enjoyable. There were only a couple of negatives with our room. Whilst it was comfortable and the hotel had made good use of the space available, there was a lack of hooks to hang anything up. Perhaps if you weren't skiing this wouldn't be a problem, but when you want to hang up your ski clothes at the end of the day, it was a bit annoying. The lock on our door wasn't great and you had to slam it shut to make sure it was closed properly. I think we left the room a couple of times with the door ajar having not realised. We had one day where we didn't have housekeeping. We probably wouldn't bother with a room with a balcony as we didn't use it, other than to keep a couple of drinks cold. We used the pool a couple of times, which was lovely, if a little cold to get to from the room in the snow. Overall, we had great week staying here and we would definitely return.

Reviewed By samc116The Claudia is part of Hotel Hochfiltzer. We were greeted by the Claudia staff, in a very warm friendly way. The rooms are spotless and like home from home. Micheal is so warm ,friendly ,welcoming and efficient to see to all the breakfast guests. You have everything you could wish for. After a long two covid years it was fantastic to laugh, and feel safe at this pension. Meals are at the main hotel and were delicious with excellent staff.

Reviewed By ColJanWicklowFrom the moment we arrived , we felt at home in this family run hotel. The rooms are first class, the food was fabulous and plentiful and the situation was perfect. We were 2 families with grown up children and the pool and sauna area was a big hit . Drinks were reasonably priced and the wine we picked tasted a lot more than the €31 we paid per bottle. The ski locker room was big enough and warm with a very short walk to the ski bus which took 10mins to get us to the main lift. The breakfast each morning was superb, with freshly made omelettes if you wanted . If I had to find a slight fault it would be the lack of public area for a family to play cards, the bar area could do with better seating etc for this purpose. but this did not affect our holiday one bit. A fantastic stay was had by all.

Reviewed By Tom FThis slightly off the beaten track land Hotel And Restaurant (on the farm where food is produced) is totally amazing. Beautiful food in a beautiful setting with fabulous outdoor area to eat. If your in the area don’t miss it. Not open to the public every night so call ahead.

It is quite a big hotel, but it doesn't feel like it, because of all the nice area's in the hotel (different dining rooms, at the bar etc.) The rooms are beautiful and very clean. A compliment for this! The swimming pool is excellent. The water was warm, we liked the view and the outdoor swimming pool as well. The location of the Hotel is also very nice, everything is close by. Thank you for this lovely dream week!

Reviewed By Andreas VWhat a wonderful hotel!. The spa areas are big and lovely; there is massage; it is ski-in ski-out, and the bar is huge. The food is really good too, and the staff are friendly. They were really helpful when we there. I had trouble with my covid-19 pass due to some rules changes in the EU, and they figured out a way to get around the requirement to show a QR-code. The rooms are not very big, but the hotel is clearly built around a premise that you spend the day skiing and most of the late afternoon / evening in the spas and common areas

Absolutely spotless and perfectly located
Reviewed By BronteBekiWe stayed in an apartment with our kids. It had everything we needed, was super clean and quiet and just a stone's throw away from restaurants, bars and the ski bus. The afternoon coffee and cake was delicious and Doris and her husband went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The sauna/spa area was a definite highlight, and once again, absolutely spotless. There was also a kids' playroom and ski room with boot warmers. Can't fault it and we will definitely be visiting again.
